Thats what I love about this forum, so many people who are exactly that, People. Not marketing dog poop that some forums (not to mention) contain. There is no messing about with this forum it is all upfront honest opinions of the users of ecigs.
The stinke look a likes are OK, and thats all I have to say about them, I wasted hundreds on them and if I could turn back time I would have got a ego without batting an eye lid, like the others I use a much bigger device. If you end up liking it there is a wealth of infomation for every single aspect of ecigs and ecig mods etc.
I get asked why replace one addiction with another, well I enjoy 'smoking' and like you a loved the green goodness. I have not touched or even thought about any of that stuff for some time (Its amazing how clear your head becomes and that life starts working for you rather than the other way round)
Enjoy and most of all do whats best for you. One tip: try and get into the mindset of things and you wont even bother wanting one, then wait a week or two smoke free and I PROMISE you, you will taste all of those 4000 chemicals and feel sick.

Hi John! I'm a newbie as well so can't offer much advice on choice. I ended up buying an Ego kit but like you I was a bit worried about the size of it and thought about buying something slightly more discreet for going out. 3 weeks later and it doesn't bother me in the slightest and I happily vape away! Although I felt a bit self conscious to start with I soon realised nobody really notices or cares and if they do usually they just want to know more about it! I've found it's a great conversation starter and in only 3 weeks I've already convinced a couple of people to go out and buy a kit.

Well John, what more can I say! You've already had the best advice, and I hope you will be pleased with your eGo set-up when it arrives (do let us know your first impressions, we love reading about converts!). I used to feel a bit of a prat vaping in public, now I can't care less about it, if anyone wants to ask me I'll happily tell them about my conversion, but most of the time no-one even notices. Says a lot about the great British public! A few other bits of info that might prove useful. Always have a back-up, and back-up your back-ups! You can't pop down to the corner shop/offy/all-night garage for spares. I have 2 ego chargers, and one lives in the car just in case. Try as many small testers of juice as you can afford first before committing to buying a 30ml bottle (which will last at least 2 weeks of average vaping). This way you'll avoid my mistake, buying loads of juice that I didn't like. Notice I said 'didn't' - your tastebuds will change after giving up the stinkies, and juice that you detest will suddenly become your favourite, and vice versa. Experiment with different strengths of liquid - 18mg (or 1.8%) is an average level of nicotine, but higher or lower might suit you better. If you get nauseous or stomach cramps, ease off for a bit, and lower your nic level. It would be an idea to have juice at different strengths for different stress levels too! Keep hydrated - vaping PG (the base liquid of most of the juices, in varying amounts) dehydrates you and will cause a dry mouth, sore throat and the odd headache until you get used to it. Some people are allergic to PG, and if you find real problems, switch to something with more VG and less PG. Hope this helps, and keep us posted! Andy

Welcome John. There's some good advice already posted so I don't need to add my penny-worth of advice. Here is something worth leaving on here for future visitors though. If your friend has quit tobacco on a 10-motives, he's a lucky guy. What these products don't tell consumers is anything about the science/maths in vaping to quit (as in quit smoking for good, and just inhaling nicotine). If you're not vaping to quit, anything will do to pass the time when you can't smoke for a short while, or you are in a no-smoking place. In fairness to 10-motives and E-Lites and Skycig and all the rest (..... > ) they do not market their products "overtly" as quit-tobacco-for-good, more about having an alternative. However, many of them talk about how much money you can save by switching and infer that what they sell will work. In the fullness of time, many of these products will attract the attention of trading standards, then that will be that. In a clever bit of "trickery" they sell weak (unpowerful) batteries and high resistance cartomisers that go on a long time, hence the ideas about 20/30/40 cigarettes-worth. What comes out is a very light vapour with almost no useable nicotine. If you can get 25 "cigarettes-worth" (250 puffs) out of one 10-motives refill cart, then each 10-puff "smoke" will have about 0.2mg of nicotine in. So, they can't have their cake and eat it. Either it does 25 fags in either nicotine content or 25 fags in amount of puffs. Actually, they do neither. I would have needed to "vape" on a mini e-cig like this 6 or 7 sessions/times (60-70 puffs) to equal ONE good-old-fashioned roll up. Scary business. That's the maths. It took me a good long while to work it out. I knew things were "wrong" within 4 or 5 hours of using a mini e-cig.

Hi & John some really good advice with the kit and have to agree that either a Ego or Rvia kit would be the best for you!! The cig-a - likes are all very well, I dont want to knock them because they do help acclimatise you to vaping, I had this dinky e-cig which I had to keep putting on charge every 2hrs........... thats how fast it ran out, got quite frustrating. Thanks to advice from the people on here, I then got a Riva kit from one of the vendors on here and havent looked back, it is so enjoyable and I did feel quite self-concious when I used it in public but now its 2nd nature You will need some juice and gain there are plenty of vendors on here with great bargains.............. and plenty of variety.............. based on what you smoke....... between 18-24mg would be best for you Hope you enjoy and update us on what you think
