I won £75 from a £5 stake on the winner. The mrs told me to back it,wish i had put more on now.Not bad considering i dont usually gamble though.

Nice one CKC,it was a good race and i enjoyed watching it.It makes it alot more exciting when you have a bet or two on doesnt it.I was sad that two of the horses died though

I've only just heard about that 10 minutes ago. I know there's been a lot of concern in the past with the fences being too high etc and they said they'd made them lower.Obviously not enough :-(

Heard today that it's apparently more 'cost effective' to put injured race horses to sleep rather than to rehabilitate them : (

It's a very unfortunate cost of this race. I don't doubt from a purely financial point of view, it is more cost effective to put the horses to sleep but in yesterday's cases it was also the right thing to do. The horse that fell at the forth, landed on it's head and broke it's neck, whilst the one that fell at Bechers, broke it's back. A sad sporting day. Sean

It is sad as they are beautiful animals.I think it was the rite thing to do if they had such bad injuries. Its made me realise just how cruel some sports actually are.Lets hope they get it sorted for future Grand Nationals.
