I stopped years ago trying to keep my pc up to date to play games and went over fully to an xbox, I know it's not the same and I miss dreadfully some strategy games, but it leaves the pc for useful stuff and stops me worrying about the pc being up to scratch. It's just an option you might not have thought of fully

A, You have not mentioned the games you play and expect to be playing, However as noted above, recent games are VERY CPU intensive. What are your CPU options for the machines? How powerful and how old are your power supplies? Are you considering HD upgrades for more speed? Budget? Have fun I Games are mainly RPG/action adventure types like Skyrim, fallout 3,witcher 2,some racing games, not really into the war type games. 900 watt power supply that's not too old will cope with this system which I can now tell you now has a Asus maximus motherboard and 3 ghz dual core cpu, should get me by for that 18 month odd period, then will look whats out there. I'm running Skyrim maxed with lot's of HD textures and mods and it's runs lovely as well as looking stunning Witcher 2 wonderful game, just don't try ultra settings

It's just an option you might not have thought of fully I've got a 360 and PS3 and rarely use them apart from exclusives. No AA, No DX10 or above, framerate issues and more difficult to mod games. The games are much more expensive than PC though although the hardware is loads cheaper and easier to manage. And for most games I prefer keyboard and mouse, yes I can get bluetooth keyboards and mice but that kind of defeats the object of consoles. The only thing I prefer about consoles is the 42" 1080 TV rather than the 23" 3D monitor and the home cinema 5.1 is much much better than my piddly 5.1 Creative speakers on the PC.

You're absolutely right, with everything, I think if console games had stayed as expensive as they were years ago, I would have stayed with the pc. But today, they are really cheap in comparison. Sorry alan, I didn't mean to crash your thread. If I had the choice, it would still probably be 1st person games on the tv and strategy games with a mouse on the pc. I like the sound and screen size of the tv for 1st person games, but I haven't tried to play a strategy game on a console since the PS1. It just doesn't work well. Costs sort of take away my choice these days, I'm hoping to afford a pc that does decent strategy games sometime soon and I will continue to play 1st person on the xbox, as a pc that plays skyrim to your amazing level is out of the question. Amazing shots btw.

Hi Andy, funny enough I had a Zotec GTX 260 which had two 6 pin connectors and had to buy a lead for it,so think I'm covered on that front (I hope)
