Proboards V5 coming to a forum near you soon.

I've decided that as I'm as ready as I'm ever going to be, I'm going to move the forum to the new V5 platform on Thursday morning. Therefore, from approximately 8a.m. to 12 noon Thursday 7th Feb, the forum will be in maintenance mode.

My biggest worry is about the new sign in process & how you will all get on with global sign in. Once you have done it & created a global account, it's brilliant. But even I got a tad confuddled when it was first introduced for beta testing.

Sadie,I've made the default theme (skin) to be more or less be the same as this one. I've tweaked the other skins & added some more. There will be 7 skins (or themes as Proboards are now calling them) to choose from.

Looking forward to it, the current version is a bit dated. New can be good as long as the beta testers ironed out all the bugs. I beta test hardware and it can be hard work trying to think how other people think and how they might use something different to me to try and cover all angles. I avoid testing software though, can't be doing with it

Good chance it will be far less than 4 hours, Andy. Just wanted to cover myself with a bit more time in case of any unforeseen circumstances However, as we are a large/busy forum, it could easily take an hour to upgrade to a very basic form. Once upgraded, I'll then have to export & import all the themes/plug ins/templates & new header & footer codes I've been working on via my beta test board.

The current version is very dated indeed Simon. I think most of the bugs are already ironed out, but some minor ones they are still working on.
