Silica wick

Just trying to gauge how much interest there would be if I were to bulk buy some silica wick from china. There's going to be quite a large outlay if I go ahead and it would work out around £1 a mt for 2.5mm.

What size would be of most interest? Is 2.5mm pretty much ideal or would people prefer 1.5 or 2mm?

I tend to use either 2 or 3mm wick. Just bought 5meters of 3mm though from a chap on ukv who sells 5meters of 3mm for £5 delivered.

Meee I bought 5mt off him too, he's run out now though. Looking at the 3mm I'm wondering if it's going to be a bit thick for the Ody, will use it when I next recoil.

According to his site it's cotton wicking material, don't know anything about that I've always used fibre glass or silica, I could see cotton burning through pretty quickly?

Get a sample of whatever wick you're getting dee, some give a harsh scratchy hit and some hold a funky taste when new that in a decent wick dissipates very quickly.
2.5mm I've found is the best size for my nautilus although 3mm will fit if twisted tighter. 2.5mm will also work well in spheroids and the like but penelope takes 3-3.5mm
as does the mk2 odysseus. Bit of a mine field in sizes.
I usually use a combination of wicks from 1mm, 1.5mm, 2mm & 2.5mm to make the correct sizes for the mods I'm using so if you get a decent wick I'll nab some at what ever size you choose

I was thinking more towards the 2.5mm Blakey, I've asked them to drop me a email, I'll reply requesting a sample. Good thinking

i would buy 2.5 mm if you got it

I would buy 2.5 and 1mm if you got it. using 4x 1mm wicks in Novas and CE4's etc works well.
