Hi. I have been smoking 20+ roll-ups a day for over 35 years and in 24 hours I cut down to 5 or less a day with the help of vaping. I have been vaping for 2 weeks now and have no desire to go back to my old habits. I have overspent by at least £40 in deriving these hints but I dont regret it because I'm having fun and still saving money. Hopefully they may save someone a couple of quid and make it easier to stay on the vaping train.
1) Buy decent vaping kit. After a false start in the local chemist I bought the Jacvapour V1P PCC starter kit which I love, great build quality and lots of vapour. I have seen eGo and Riva kits highly recommended on this forum and others. 2) You won't look a prat vaping in public. My e-cig is the size of a king-size cig, all black with a blue glowing tip. It looks cool and passers-by don't give it a second glance. I don't vape on the buses or tube and I do ask permission in pubs and restaurants - never been refused. 3) Don't try and cut down on nicotine from the outset - just think about all that tar you are giving up on. 4) Get the largest size battery that will fit in and work with your charging case and get a spare - I chose 55mm batteries as part of the starter kit and then spent over £20 getting two 65mm batteries that now last me through the day. 5) Look at the reviews to help you choose the tobacco flavour for your starter kit cartomisers - they won't taste like the real thing but you probably want to start with a familiar sort of flavour. 6) Have fun with new flavours - but don't go mad mixing. One of the joys of vaping is being able to carry around cartomisers with different flavours and swap between them in seconds. I now carry with me one pure tobacco flavour, one tobacco/vanilla flavour home mix and one vendor's special flavour. Get the small 5ml sample bottles and maybe start by making traditional style tobacco mixes (tobacco with vanilla or cherry etc) before you branch out. This is an area where you can waste money very easily. Think first - I didn't. 7) Get a mains charger adapter - you are not always near an active USB port.

Hello & welcome Chriss Main problem with a jacvapour is the KR808 fitting, you are so limited what you can use with it & where you can buy spares from. Oh & I don't think I look a pratt even vaping my GGTS in public

Great advice there Chris - I'm sure we could all add more points, but this is a great start. My suggestion, before someone else gets there first, would be to ensure you have sufficient spares of everything, including a spare charger! You can't just pop down to the local corner shop if you run out, or something breaks, so make sure you are covered - batteries, juice, cartos/clearos, and anything else you use on a regular basis. Andy

Thanks Chrissie. When you start vaping you do worry about standing out and feeling self-conscious. I found I didn't and was glad of it. I know now the jacvapour has a non-standard thread but I am happy with my purchase and still think it is good kit for a new vaper.

Hi Chriss.
Nor did I. I spend moths trying to find a home for some JacVapour big bottles. NB - good juice, just not to my liking.....
I still have cappucino 24mg. Can't decide whether to vape it or send it to al-Qaeda.
I charged up my JacVapour V3 last night and had a puff. I thought about doing a video for youtube.
"E-Lites vs JacVapour vs Riva vs Lavatube".
Then I remembered if I publicly criticise E-Lites, I'll get another scary email.

Eventually I got fed up with charging on the PCC all the time. So I enrolled onto the US E.C.Forum. Then Chrissie rescued me. She's my Angel....
