Not had the problem, or heard of anyone else having it.
Are you setting it correctly?
Press either of the two smaller buttons for 10 seconds, or so. If it displays No1 it was set to RMS and is now set to AVG. If it displays No2 it was set to AVG and is now RMS. You can't check what it is set to without changing the setting.

Sounds as though there is a fault then, as I said I've not heard of that problem before. Unless anyone else knows different ???

are you using it in vv or vw mode, as i was thinking if you was using the vv mode and as we know it does not remember the volt settings, if avg is the default could it be going back to this after switch off. but you can forget this if you are using vw, just a thought

Doesn't matter if it is VV or VW it should still retain AVG or RMS setting.

Its set to vw. i never use vv as when ya change the battery it sets to 3 volts one little tap of the minus button it goes straight to 6 volts. not good If ya got a low res head on it. at least in vw it reads the ohms of the head and drops the voltage.
