One of the directors was chatting to me and saw my LT sat on my desk. "Why don't you smoke that in the office instead of going outside unless you like the social side with the smokers?" I spluttered...spluttered more and then didn't know what to say. Wasn't expecting that lol He then wondered off saying they really should improve the comfort of the outdoor smoking area for the smokers at some point. lol Whilst it's great that he's forward thinking and open minded enough to listen to the evidence with e-cigs I caqn't see it getting past the two MDs. They are much more hardball I fear, so I'll probably let it go and keep to the canteen and loos I wish more people were as sensible as our finance director, shame he retires this year

I just use myone anyway. Cant say anyone notices, mind you I am in a room with one other person but there is a BIG glass window behind me with another office with more people in it. My colleuge has never had anything bad to say other than "that smells a bit different than your usual juice "

Where I used to work, before I retired, I would not have been allowed to vape anyway.
Nothing to do with the Vaping side of it but because of the Battery.
If firms do have a ban on vaping, it may not be anything to do with the Smoking/Vaping bit but for other reasons.

I suspect here it would be a problem with the association of smoking and the unknown. It's a big step with a company of 100 employees, many of whom smoke to say to me, sure go on ahead and "smoke" in the office.

I think work places should encourage it more, might make people give up the fags and move to the e cigs.

My brother works for Bombardier and the vapers in his place recently were told that they could no longer vape inside the building because "it encourages people to smoke". Now, they have to go outside and vape along with the smokers.

this is most likely on here somewhere already but quite useful to give it to your employer, mine was delighted and being the most "anti smoker" i have ever met said to me puff away on your E cig whenever you like, wherever you like. now got the rest of the smokers putting in orders for their own............. I agree companies should support vaping in the office as a health promotion and support people who want to leave analogues. But I can understand the zero tolerance or non endorsed attitude because if ecigs are found to be dangerous at some point (they won't) Then it could open them up to legal action etc.

Over 2million in Germany and many more in other countrys. if everyone said NO and just got about their business what are they going to do?. Lock up 800k people in the UK?. I dont think so. Not enought people are making enough noise and that is the problem.
