You said the button flashes when you put it on charge, does it light up when it's off charge and you press it?

Don't panic. I use a small flat head screwdriver just make sure batt is off when you do it. Least its not far away and open today. Deep breaths.

Well it should light up when pressed even without a clearo on so I'd say it's knackered, switch or battery.

If it's not lighting up then no amount of pin adjustment is going to get power out of it.

Have you tried clicking the button 5 times?

Ok sounds like batt is just off. Press button 3 or 5 times in a row to turn on.

I never knew you could switch on or off the battery
