I had made a new coil of 2.8 ohms and tested it by using the meter and also by using the vamo reading. I am very happy with the reading as its a constant 2.8 ohms but when I went to use it, its giving me a tight draw and no vapour. I removed the top of the nova and fired it up and its glowing so obviously working.
Any ideas what could be the issue

is it wraped too tight ? dose the wick slide or can you move it inside the coil could be strangling the wick not alowing it to draw juice this would not cause a tight draw what size wick did you use ?

Had you cleaned it first? Sometimes I find that water will kill the vapour, not sure about the tight draw though, have you tried the nova on a different batt?

Centre pin in the base may be be off centre sealing of the hole through it as dopes not line up with hole in head contact , pull it out with pliers or tweezers and push back in. Or you could unscrew the head and check it.

Thanks everyone.
I made another two today, they came in at 2.3 ohms but one of them registered at 9.9 so I took it off and had a look, to me it seem good, so I stuck it back on and it then said 2.3, any idea why 9.9 was showing in the first reading.

I've had it show 9.9. It's when their is an open circuit. Normally the head isn't screwed down fully or it's the wrong type of head and doesn't make a good contact in the centre tube. Had this issue the other day.

Thanks tom.
So I am guessing that by taking it off to check it and sticking it back on, the second time around that I actually screwed it properly. Cheers I can never seem to get anything right first time nowadays.
Many thanks Tom
