Getting on very well with my Riva 1100. Have a slight preference for the clearomiser over the cartomiser as you can see when its due for a refill and it seems that you have to drip a bit more often into the carto's.
To give the clearomiser the longest possible life, how often would you recommend a clean? As I've gone dizzy with the amount of threads I have read, I think (unless I was hallucinating) that I read somewhere that it is recommended to keep the clearo full, as it keeps the wick covered. Anyone know if this is correct? If so when it comes to a clean, is there an easy way to drain the tank OR is it recommended to vape it down to empty. (does this then run the risk of wearing it out quicker?)
BTW, I cant stop spending on juice... By the end of this week I will have about 180ml in stock of various flavours and strengths. Well....I like to keep my options open!

Vape it empty or pour the rest back in the bottle, and rinse out with warm water give it a shake or two with it half full of water, and shake dry or leave upside down on kitchen towel, refill and happy days. once it's been used a few times you may need to dry burn the wick and coil if it starts tasting funky or a lack of vapour or flavour, to do this empty it again, take off the mouth piece and the rubber sheath from inside the tank and with it connected to a device press the fire button to heat it up and burn off any residue left on the coil, this needs to be done untill you see the coil glow red , however best not to keep it pressed for too long, little and often, then blow any paticles off it or give it a rinse again, refill and it should be good as new. ps, don't forget to put the rubber back on the top.

Here's a video kindly shared in the Newbies thread. A guide to cleaning your clearo:

Brilliant, thanks for the explanation & vid. The detail on the clearomiser on vapescapes says this is a consumable item and will need replacing at some stage and gives a range of "one to several weeks" Assuming I use the cleaning method above, does anyone have a realistic lifespan? I've bought a spare but obviously don't want to get caught short.

Should last a couple of months, maybe more, most last ages, some fail early on, crack leak gurgle etc, if you are using them all the time just have a couple of spares, cos chances are a couple will go at the same time, it's not all fun lol
