Re-oxidised, re-coiled, switched to the riva batt I been using this afternoon instead of the one I took off charge an hour ago. Sizzling and no hotspot, pulsing it gently

Looking better I think. Top coil looks a little hotter, that ok ? Can do a full length 10second burst before Riva times out and it doesn't pop.

Coil graveyard LOL . Pretty happy, all set for Vamo, no way I'm walking about with it sitting on a Riva.

Pulse it is the way, make sure youre at low voltage too, also make sure the top coil is relaxed going to the posi post, not loose but relaxed, also nudging the top of the wick slightly towards the posi post helps to take the tension from the wire.

That top coil is too hot, try wrapping it round the other side of the top post so it takes on a lettser S shape.

I was going to dig out my mesh and have another go with the aga-s but this pic reminded why I stopped trying, cheers Thinking of chatting to one of our DT teachers to see if the S could be made into a little dripper with a shortened centre post and some fiddling instead ???

If you keep dripping juice onto it and pulsing it you may get away with it, but it will taste metallic I think.

Rolling the wick was a doddle, I've been rolling all kinds of ciggies for 25years. It slides down the hole quite nicely, and 'looks' like a little straw. As for the coil, I will try the drill bit once Vamo is in my hands, but I just HAD to have a go at setting the AGA up last night I measured my 1st attempt at 2.4ohms, did'nt check this one tho as Mr Tom made me forget. Crikey, I've only gone and done it! Before wrecking my aga-s I thought I'd give it one more quick go to convince myself that all hope was lost and it worked pretty much first time: cut a bit of 400 mesh based on earlier cuttings (but actually a bit smaller than before, which was based on todd's spreadsheet... 35x45mm'ish I reckon) burnt off stray edges rolled a straw wick very lightly flamed it repeatedly (avoiding hot glow just in case) on a gas hob... no quenching/juicing 3mm drill bit and 4x wraps of .2 fed it in (had to unwrap a bit to make it snugger) pulsed a few times, nudged with needle, etc. topped up with flue cured and primed coil 2.1ohm running at 3.8v on my provari = result:) previous attempts... 2+ hours tonight... 10 minutes tops funny old game ain't it?!
