I have been on several forums. BMW forum. Ford Transit Forum (i have a van). Formula one forum. I have found this one to be the least cliquey.

At the time Mike Sarne was the only man who could sound sexy with a Cockney accent (most accents except "Oxford" and American were unsexy to me back then) - it was before Michael Caine was invented Pity it was just a novelty one-off. scylla

I remember those two songs, Del. Which American accent, Scyl ?? lol. Actually there are a number of different accents here, New England/New York, Midwestern, Southern, Western. What you hear in the movies is a pretty bland generic American accent.
