This is inspired by a thread by Radio 2 on Facebook today called "Disproportionate Pleasures". That, and the fact that I'm a nosy article. So, what small everyday things give you disproportionate pleasure? I'll start then, shall I? Wiping down work surfaces in the kitchen and seeing them crumb-free. I do not have OCD, btw. Feeding the kitchen scraps to my chooks.

Feeding the kitchen scraps to my chooks. I really get a kick out of doing that as well. Making the kids porridge in the morning is also a pleasure, as they gobble it up like it's the best food in the world. Reading a bedtime story to my kids or watching my daughter read a book, have to come in the top 10, she loves books and it thrills me every time I see her.

Hoovering and watching the pile rise I do hope that it's the carpet pile you are referring to, Romelee.

+1 for kitchen work surfaces. How odd that it gives such satisfaction Toast crumbs! Of the Devil, they are. No one in this abode seems to have the capability of getting a slice of bread from the packet to the toaster/breadboard without scattering the whole contents of the bottom of the bread bag over every work surface, round the taps, in the sink, under the kettle, on a trail on the floor towards the fridge... Annnnnnd breathe.
