sky...magic eye

I have sky in my living room and have a magic eye on my t.v. in the bedroom.

All was well until the other night, a message came up that said it was gonna go into hibernation, it said to stop this happening I had to press back up which I did, it didnt get rid of the message and sky promptly went off, ive not been able to get sky back on since.

Does anybody have any idea please what I need to do to get it back on? Im not good with owt like this but feel ive tried everything that I can think of and still nothing.

sky box gone in to standby, unplug it,wait 5 sec replug back in[or turn off at mains switch] then press power on button easiest method


you can turn the standby feature off each box model has different parts in settings,just google it or go to skycom forums

The sky in the living room still comes on though.....................I will give it a go anyway

I turned the power off at the main telle and it worked as far as I now have sky in the bedroom, my problem now is that I have the sky on but it seems like the remote isnt working in the bedroom, its like it doesnt know sky is there..........

Have you tried changing the batteries in the remote? You could test the handset by setting if it works with the box downstairs.
Of not probably need to change the batteries in the remote.

Yes Disco, The remote is fine as it works on the one in the living room............I think the problem im having now is summat and nowt but when you are like me .....not techno at all .......there lies the problem

Mine did it once, it needed the RF power turning back on, when the sky box went off the settings altered.

OK, I was just eliminating the obvious. When fault finding you eliminate the easy things first!

I have a similar problem Mary, I have the magic eye in the kitchen, I accidently pressed a wrong key on the remote and the sky went off and now won't come back. I was told it was just 1 key you need to press to get sky back but I have forgotten which key it was, can't get hold of my usual tv man he is on holiday.GRRR

Another thought as well, go to source on your remote control and check you have the right option highlighted.

Oh my lordy lordy, I think the problem from what im reading is this rf thinghy, but I cant find where I check that, at the moment I cannot use the sky remote so it has to be something that I need to change on the t.v remote....I would think lol

When I press source on the t.v. remote it says t.v. dunno if its supposed to

If it on tv now Mary, just try the other settings, and if sky doesn't come back put it back to tv.

If its the RF that is altered on your sky remote, not tv remote. Try the TV remote on source, if nothing happens we can try to sort out your RF.

Ive gone through all the settings in the source and nothing happened, its now back on t.v.

Ah, so the rf is changed on the sky remote, oh well I cant do anything with that, ive tried pressing everything on the sky remote and nothing works.
