before i order more wire to experiment with...has anyone tried either of those in a clearo like the T3/eVod/Vivi nova or similar? I'm wondering how many wraps of 0.22/0.25 I'd need to get a 1.8ohm coil at the moment I'm using 0.20mm kanthal around 2mm ekowool (which is actually 3mm in diameter) and even with only 4 wraps I'm getting about 2.0ohm. ideally I'd like 6 or 7 wraps and about 1.7 - 2.0ohm PS. On a brand new eVod 1.8ohm head there is 5 wraps of a wire thinner than the 0.20mm kanthal I have..and it's bang on 1.8ohms, how do they do it? Edit. just noticed StealthVape do .15, .17, .20 .23, .25, .27, .28 and .30mm Kanthal A1 so that will save on shipping from Ebay (Germany)

Is there space in a EVOD head for 6-7 wraps..If they are VIVI NOVA size you can't fit much more than 4-5 wraps..
4 wraps of 0.2 Kanthal around a 2mm wick should give you around 1.5-1.8 ohms..How are you measuring the resistance?

You would need to go with .18 or less on 2mm to get more turns with the same resistance.

I use 0.16 kanthal on the viv nova with three turns around 3 pieces of 1mm wick and a needle and get around 1.5 ohms.I bought my wire of deesigner on here Wire thread

Hi macca it's actually more like 3mm wick (my ekowool is 2mm deep and about 3 - 3.5mm wide so when Its inside the round coil it ends up 3mm in diameter) here is a T3 coil I just did the other day..I'm sure I could squeeze in 2 more wraps.. only want to try more wraps (but still at about 1.8 ) cos I read that when it comes to a coil, the more surface area the better. I use my multimeter to check the ohms, after subtracting the resistance of the probes, the brand new eVod head reads 1.8ohm so it's working fine.

Actually to get more turns you need thicker wire but you also need to mindful of the space you have for the coil.. If you really wanted I would try the 0.22 on a small atty, but not much bigger or you'll end up with really low res attys of 1.2 ohm and below with the space you have to work with...

Squeezing more coils in a small space will mean concentrated heat over a very small space and may result in burnt hits.. Remember that your thicker wire will will occupy much more space so there is that to consider..

Hmm..I have 5 1/2 wraps of 0.2 Kanthal A1 around a 4 mm ( 2 x 2 mm) wick in my Terminator, wound tight and it meters out at exactly 2.0 ohm..

ok thanks maccafan ..I'm starting to wonder if the wire I bought is really 0.20mm then, got 20mtrs from alba-vapours and had to pay nearly £5 in postage

at school which was a long time ago we was told to think of wire as a water pipe bigger the pipe the less resistance smaller pipe more resistants, never forgot that lol
