It's the same in this house Ginger Mr Karma is still smoking! I try not to do the ex-smoker thing, but the longer I'm vaping the more the smelly smoke annoys me, so I'm often waving my arms about complaining! The upside is any of my previous quit attempts it was the smell of his smoke that always lured me back to the ciggies. There is no way that I would swap my lovely vape for his smoke now Wibble sounds nice

Welcome darkginger i think you will be shocked at how easy it is to give up with your new setup you will still have times that you fancy a stinky but i have found that just a taste of someones is enough to put me off and realise all the reasons why i have wanted to quit for so many years:) i found the next step for me was to turn it into a hoby and try many different flavours/apparatus and is also good to read the forum daily just to realise that its not just you and there are so many others trying to give up that will also give you encouragement and help at any time:) i dont envy you though that mr dark still smokes around you i would find that hard myself keep chipping away at him you may get lucky:)

Hi everyone. I started trying to replace my usual 30 a day habit with e-cigs about a week ago - used those Nicolite lookalikes until today my new Kanger Twist starter kit (2 batteries, 2 atomisers, chargers for USB and mains, 5 x 5ml sample juices) arrived. I am now most definitely a convert! My first 2 flavours are Wingnuts Wibble and Honeywood, both 20mg. I'm finding that the Wibble needs a higher battery power than the Honeywood, but I'm enjoying both of them. Now for my questions: What can I expect to feel over the next few weeks as I get used to vaping instead of smoking? Any withdrawals at all? I don't seem to be getting through much juice - started this morning and can barely see a difference in the level in the 'tank' (for want of whatever the technical term is). I'm finding I vape maybe 2 or 3 puffs every 5 mins or so when sitting at the computer - not sure I've really got the hang of this yet, but not having any desperate cravings to smoke, so I guess it's all good. The dry mouth - other than drinking shedloads of water, any way to prevent/combat this? Silly question, but I just need to be certain - there aren't any calories in these wonderfully chocolate-flavoured vapes, are there? I've seen the Stevia/Aspartame discussions, so I'm assuming not (and can't really see how I could be inhaling calories!), but having been on a diet for the past 7 months and lost a significant amount of weight, I really don't want to bugger it up. Told you it was a silly question! How often do you find you need to replace the mouthpiece part? Most posts I've seen seem to estimate once a week - would that be about right, and how do you know when it needs changing? When swapping from one flavour to another, do you wash out the tank (atomiser?) part, or would that get water down the middle bit? If you don't wash it, how do you transition from one flavour to another? Thanks for any replies/answers - I'm really excited to be off cigarettes after many, many years, and want to make sure I stick with the vaping and don't make any stupid beginner errors!

Hi everyone I'm Art, new to this site but not new to vaping. The lady who said she had given up her 30 day habit and switched to e cigs, congratulations first. A couple of things you mentioned and they're not silly - the dry mouth, check how much pg - propylene glycol is in your e juice, this could be causing it. Having said that, it does help to drink plenty, and good detox too. I switched about a year ago, I had the occasional fag, but found the taste disgusting after a while. So I've nearly been free of tobacco for a whole year, and it's coming up to my 21st birthday next week! I started when I was 14 because everyone else did it, even at college, but a family member had cancer and he was close to me and it was too late for him, and that's when I switched. You asked what you can expect over next few weeks, richer for a start off. You;ll start to taste your food and drink, your sense of smell will get better, your gums and teeth will feel pretty good. I work in IT and in the office I used to hate everyone complaining when I'd come back from a fag break saying 'you stink' NO CALORIES in vaping honestly, I'm as skinny anyway. If you're using a quality e juice you shouldn't have a problem at all. Cos I save so much dosh, I get mostly 80/20 vg/pg, tried 100 vg but can't get a nicotine high enough, but it does give out a lot of vapour. with the 80/20 mix I get a good throat hit and lots of vapour too. As for the mouth piece, put in boiling water, do the same with your clearo, and you can wash it out with hot water only, give it a good shake and either leave to dry upside down, or use the battery to dry burn the excess off, takes a lot of battery power, only use at about 5 second intervals and you will hear the water burning off, when you see the wick glow red, your clearo is dry. Hope I've helped. Art

... Anyone found a pizza or curry flavoured juice yet? Maybe freshly made bread too! I can dream! ... Well, don't expect too much from it, but we can have everything that is possible with food flavours: Pizza is an easy one.

Wow, there really is a pizza flavour! I have to try it Thanks for the advice Art - it sounds silly, but even after such a short amount of time, my smoker's cough has improved - not so much phlegm (I hate that word!). I'm looking forward to future health improvements - there is NO way I'm going back to smoking now I've found this, still no cravings at all, and an all round better and more enjoyable experience. I'm amazed at the ease of the transition, tbh, never thought I could give up the smokes! Most of the time I live in Ireland, and have to buy everything online (they have vaping shops in the major cities, but I'm a long way away from them) - but I'll be back in the UK (Brighton) in March, and am looking forward to being able to visit actual physical shops where I can see the range of equipment on offer. I'm very happy with my Ego Twist/Kanger T3 set up, but this is only Day 2, so it remains to be seen how long various parts last and perform. I'm wondering if anyone else has gone from being a fairly heavy (30 a day) smoker to a fairly light (seems I get through about 1.5 ml a day) vaper? I was expecting to use more - maybe it's 'cos my juices are 20mg, and I'd use more if I lowered the nicotine content? I'm vaping at will, so it's not like I'm trying to be conservative! I don't actually want to use more (the cheaper the better!), I'm just surprised that I'm not a heavy vaper - thought I would be! Thanks everyone for the welcome - it's good to get advice from others who have trodden this path before me. Happy vaping!

hiya darkginger, love the username!! I was a 30 a day roll up smoker for years and years and years and etc and i am truly amazed to have stopped so easily! i am just over a month in and i think i am vaping less as the days pass, maybe down from 5 to 3ml now. I LOVE the sound of the wibble, where did you get it from?

The Wingnuts Wibble was from E-smokeireland (ESI) - I'm not sure whether they're still allowed to post to the UK (new postal regulations?), but if not, and you really want some, let me know because I can bring some over with me later this month and post it from the UK. My vaping adventures continue - still vaping the 2 flavours I started with on Tuesday - I only half filled the clearos, I guess I just don't vape that much - but I'm almost empty on one, so my next taste trial will be Wingnuts 'Nut Juice' (great name, eh?), because I sniffed it last night and it smells like hazelnuts Talking about sniffing bottles, my Chocolate Donut and Vanilla Custard arrived this morning (again from ESI, who supersized my 2 x 10 ml order into 2 x 30ml - very impressed, they now have a loyal customer for life!) - they need 5 days steeping, but I sniffed them, and managed to get juice on the end of my nose. Panic! I've been reading about how nicotine gets absorbed through the skin etc., so had to go and do some furious nose-washing. It seems to have worked, nose hasn't fallen off yet! Just made the monthly CC payment today, so am waiting for that to arrive on the card before I go buy some replacement parts for when I need them. I was planning on a couple more Kanger T3s, plus drip tips for them - but am still mightily confused about what bits will fit my Ego Twist batteries. I'll be back in Brighton in a couple of weeks, so should be able to get to the bricks 'n mortar vaping shop there to get some advice in person - not going to spend too much until I've had a chance to see and handle the goods! One more question - when flying/travelling through airports, do you put your gear in hand baggage or checked baggage? It's only a short flight, so I shan't need to do any stealth vaping - so if it's best in checked baggage, that's fine. Flying with Aer Lingus, if that makes any difference?
