In those days it was safe to leave your belongings unattended, nowadays bikes or anything valuable would be nicked within 20 seconds.

If I go it will most likely only be for the day, although they do not have train fares up for August yet. It seems the last train back to London is around 8pm. Would drive but have a feeling I'm going to end up pretty sozzled if I do go.

Train from Airport to Tamworth puts you 1.4 miles away from the event.

Depends how much you drink. You might end up wanting to crash somewhere. I dunno it's quite a lot of travelling for one day. I don't see late flights either assuming you're from Dublin. You could arrive in Birmingham on the early flight and leave on the quarter past 6. I suppose you would get a few hours!
