You know that saying about the only silly question is the one you don't ask. Well here is one for you.
If the bottom bit of an e-cig is called a PV. And if it isn't, what is it called?
So is there a generic name for the top bit?
Like I have attys, clearos, tanks, buds, spheroids and nanos, but what am I supposed to call these?

My understanding is that whatever is on the top is called an atty. However, whether it be a clearo, tank, carto or a £150 genesis they all have a coil which vapourises the juice so why don't we call them vappies for example. You can't say atomises because the definition of atomises means to.... 1. To reduce to or separate into atoms. 2. To reduce to tiny particles or a fine spray. 3. To break into small fragments. 4. To subject to bombardment with atomic weapons. Whereas vapourise means to.... 1. a. To convert or change into a vapor. b. To draw off in the form of vapor. 2. To draw moisture from, as by heating, leaving only the dry solid portion. 3. To deposit (a metal) on a substrate by vacuum sublimation. v.intr. 1. a. To change into vapor. b. To pass off in or as vapor. 2. To produce vapor. 3. To disappear; vanish The bottom bit is just a battery or battery holder imo. A PV (personal vapouriser) refers to the whole setup. That's my take on it anyway

I call the juice holder that contains the heating coil/wick an atty too. But the whole caboodle is the P.V. or e.cig, to me anyway.

On the odd chance that I don't have my ecig in my hand...like maybe when I'm in the shower or..Ummmm..aaah..humm..come to think of it.. that's the only time I don't have my ecig in my hand Well then it's "where's my PV".. To which my hubby will inevitably reply.. "your PIPES on the ...whatever..." Think I'll buy an e-pipe and see what he thinks of that... And if anyone should make a waterproof one ....so much the better

I use "attachment", which kind of works as an expanded version of "atty" (though I expect that "atty" is short for "atomiser"), regardless of what the particular device is that is attached to the bottom bit (which I refer to as the "bottom bit").

My wife also uses the word 'pipes' to refer to my PVs. I call them robo-fags. If the bottom bit is a Riva or Twist I call it a battery. If it's got changeable batteries I call it a mod. The top bit is more difficult, but I think I use the word 'atty' more than anything else.

"battery holders" where you can remove the battery are often referred to as mods, which I would tend to use, but of course that is probably meaningless to someone who doesn't frequent vaping forums My wife if asked calls the whole thing a "pretend smoke"

I call the whole thing either my pretend fag, or crack-pipe, depending on who I'm with.
