Hi there, I am new to this vaping world. I'll give you some background info of me I smoked for about 10 years, mostly golden virginia. I smoked about 75-100g a week. I have tried to quit many times over the last 4-5 years, using most of the NRT products, spray, inhalers, patches, gums and lozengers but to no avail! So I went into Sainsburys last week and purchased an E-Lite single charge e-cig and 2 cartomizers. I then went back the next day to get a USB charger. So that cost me £22. I then was running very low on tips (Sunday) so I bought 2 more tips (they only had menthol yuk! lol). I was thinking of getting a new kit as these e-tips will work out expensive £4 a day which is almost cheaper to smoke hand rolling tobacco. After some advice from another forum I was going to get the Riva 1100 Deluxe kit which has 2x 1100 battys, 5 cartomisers, 1 clearomiser, case and USB charger @ £34.99. I'm unsure if this is an auto batty or not. But I discovered there is a local online vendor in my town, so I went down there to firstly refill my e-tips, which works out alot cheaper 10ml bottle @ £4.45. I bought 2 as they didn't take card payments less than £5. Whilst I was there I asked what starter kits he had, he said his most popular is the eGo EC4, which has 2x 1100 battys, 2 clearomisers, a case, 10ml juice and a USB charger @ £36.50. I also asked did he do any auto battys, but he said he hasn't done for 2 years as they keep going off in your pockets and such. Is this true. He also said I will find it hard to find a decent one. So this brings me where I am today. Do i get the Riva from vape escapes and use a 10% discount code, or do I go to my local shop and get the EC4? Which one is better priced, and more importantly which kits are better? Sorry for all the questions and such a long post, but I just wanted to get some thoughts and ideas. Many thanks in Advance Matt

Hi Matt. Welcome to the forum! Both are good starting kits and both will be a shed load better than the elites. Although the Elites are good for what they are, the educated vapor will always end up with a "real" starter kit that is not a money grabbing opportunity,

I know little things. But if the price is pretty much the same, I will always stay local

Links are fine mate, yes it's just for the clearomiser and yes it will fit on the CE4 battys and any other ego threaded battery.

Cool, yeh he said that in the shop, that they are very interchangebale. Unlike the E-Lites. Just one more thing, was he right about the auto battys? Or are there decent ones out there? Just I probably would prefer an auto if they are up to it.

If only more people thought like you rather than squabbling over 10p here and £1 there. Its crazy that people will line the pockets of non UK sellers for the sake of a few quid. #no wounder this country is stuffed!, But that's another argument all together lol. All the best!

You'll have a very hard time finding a decent sized auto battery mate and yes he was right, they are very temperamental. Plus in order to work they are not sealed because they need an airflow to pass through them. Downside of this is that if your clearo leaks any juice it will find its way into the battery electronics and kill it. Manual batteries are far superior and are suprrisingly comfortable to use.

Ok cool. So thats +3 for the local man . When I get my bonus through this weekend I shall go down an buy a kit. Right lastly clearomiser or cartomiser? He said you get a better TH and Vapour with clearomisers, but they are not the same as my e-lite or a analogue. Or will I get used to them? And I suppose the extra juice can't be a bad thing lol.

Second that!. I fell for the auto batts at first and I went through a fair few of them. And as for my manuals..... Well I am as I type still puffing away with my ego manual battery (I use for work) that I have had for nearly 2 years. and its still going strong.

Just get some tanks. Not sure on the technical term but they are like ego-T's or ego tanks (or as Totally wripoff wicked call them Tornado Ts).
I love them, and ended up buying a rebuildable set so I dont have to replace again (but that you will find later if you like vaping and get into the advanced kits)

Well I will give the clearomizers a go, and if I don't like them, I can always change to cartomizers
