I started vaping in December 2008. I went onto E Bay and found a DSE 901 which cost £22. It was pencil thin,black,2 automatic batterys and 5 cartos. Cost me £22. I also bought a bottle of Strawberry juice. 30ml for £16. It had a very familiar horned effigy on the bottle.... This is where 'he' started. On E Bay.
It was S**T... The battery life was pants... The cartos messy and I got so peed off I was back on the rollies within 2 weeks.
I wish I had bookmarked a few vendors for you to look at. I can't believe how in a few short years things have changed so much in the E Cig world.... 1st on my wishlist was a Screwdriver. They cost £99 and were regarded as the Rolls Royce of E Cigs. I assume these were Trogs earlier runs. I joined ECF forum which I think was based in the UK at that time? It was small then. Well smaller but it seemed really big. Now it is HUGE. Makes me spin just trying to find stuff on there.
So I carried on with the rollies... Went to Amsterdam every November as that's when my then boyfriends' birthday was and got totally trollied and in 2011 in early January (after I had given up smoking) I couldn't breathe and put up with it for 12 hours and lost it at 7.00 the next morning and rang for an ambulance. Was admitted to A&E and spent 5 days on antibiotics and steroids and was released and was re-admitted with the same thing 4 days later. I had a spirometry and was given the news that I had Emphasyma. My life caved in at that moment as My Dad,Uncle, big Sister and partner Mick all died young from Emphasyma. Not one of them gave up smoking.....
2nd time around it worked. In the first week I had a rollie in the morning and 1 before bed. I did a bit of research and bought a Tornado Tank which looking back was a bit pants but at least it got me off the rollies 98% of the day. I started on Menthol and stuck with Menthol got the first 8 months. I soon progressed to buying Garry Dibley Box Mods (bought a lot of those) and went to Vapefest in Tamworth in 2011 and had a BALL. I saw the mod I wanted winking at me across a RY4 filled room and I fell in love. With a Throathit twin 18650 "Lasts 2 days between charges" and looked like a cross between a CB radio and a bomb... It arrived on my doormat a fortnight later. Soon I bought a Provari mini and I was a very happy vaping bunny. I had by this time started on Strawberry which was my addiction for another 8 months. Followed by Lemon. And I have only just discovered Orange and Lime. And now Blackcurrant. I then sold the Throathit and the Provari. Missed the postman and got a bit bored.....
So I have been smoke free now for 2 years...2 months and 27 days. I recently had another Spirometry and to my surprise I learnt that my lung function has improved by 6%. Not a lot I know but seeing as I had been slightly worried about any negative effects that vaping might have on my lungs.... Well... That was the best news I could have had.
My lungs won't improve by much. But I can stop them getting any worse by not smoking. And I now choose to vape. I have seen quite a few doctors and medical folk over the last couple of years and not one of them has been at all encouraging about my vaping. So I don't mention it anymore.
I have the devices I am happy with. An MPV and a Gripper VV as a back up. I have never liked tobacco flavoured juices and always lean towards fruity concentrates as I mix my own 24mg. I use 72mg Nicvape PG Nicotine juice and VG and mix 1/3 PG nic with 2/3 VG which gives me the 24mg I am so happy with.
I have tried re-wicking my own Vivi heads and they just went pop so i gave up.
I don't lmow much about re-wickable stuff and really want to learn so I may be asking some daft questions.
Anyway. Nice to be here and look forward to learning a lot from all you experienced vapers !!

I remember in early 2009 I used to read a lot of 'lists' on the web. Lists of different batteries, carts, atomisers and the various differences between them. I wish someone would do a 'list' of rebuildables as I know so little about them.
What do I know then? I like Vivi Novas but can't even manage to re-wick them so I figure there is not a lot of hope for me on any other rebuildables. My eyesight is not so good, even with glasses which is annoying.
I have bought and sold a Clockworks RTA. This is supposed to be a good starter for a rebuildable as it is apparently very easy to wick and wire. It isn't !! I couldn't even thread the ends of the wick down the holes which are apparently quite big but to me they were tiny !! I don't drip as I like a tank to last. I stopped using Boges as I was concerned about the wadding as my lungs are a bit shot. Vivis and I Clears seem to have less in the way of wick and wire I figure? So again. in my mind I am doing myself less damage.
The Vapepit which I am registered on but rarely visit is a forum mainly dedicated to folk who rebuild isn't it?
There are so many !! I wouldn't know a clone from an original.....
I am interested in Agas. But I'm not sure what an Aga T is... And there are some others aren't there? Agas I mean. What are the Genesis? Why are they so popular?
I watch Scott Bonners reviews and have seen him re-wick a Did,which looks doable but it at least £50 isn't it?
I have spent quite a few bob recently. Bought 2 OCTs and didn't like them, bought 2 Kanger T3s and they were too airy. Bought 2 Vapeonly BCC tanks from I Elixir which tasted foul. ( Even though I lowered my voltage to 3.8) Bought 2 I Clears which is the best tank of the lot by far but I have had to change my juice as my citruses reacted with the tank....
Without spending a fortune, is there a foolproof rebuildable tank ? As I said I know nothing about Agas but they are fairly cheap aren't they? And they seem to get good reviews......But it can't be too fiddly. No tiny screws etc. I know a bit about stainless steel mesh. I have seen many clips of folk using blowtorches. All looks a bit much really...
I have seen a pic somewhere of a knock off Cobra which are doing the rounds. The pic on the top of the box looks more like a prawn to me. But if I vaped it I wouldn't know the difference. I find that a little bit worrying.
Ideas please?
Thanks.
