Ash makes a good point above - if you find a flavour which you like, then mixing your own is definitely cheaper - about £1 per 10ml is the average. However, if you want to experiment, then it will cost you more, although you will be amassing a good 'library' of flavours for future use. I like Vanilla Custard, and have found a recipe I like, and have just mixed about 200ml for the cost of £40 - do the maths and see how the savings mount up. I now need to restock and will probably spend £30 on base, PG, VG and flavourings which will set me up for the next two months at least! Andy 200 ml ... what are you vaping whilst it steeps?

Does the HS Spearmint have a sweet note to it ? It tastes just like wrigleys spearmint chewing gum. So yeh I suppose it does have a small amount of sweeteners in it.

the only experience I have is with Decadent Vapours Spearmint from liberty-flights ... www.liberty-flights.co.uk/product.asp?id=152#4856It's not too overpowering for me and you can mix it with other flavours provided you keep the concentration down. You could try this with stevia or a vanilla to give it a sweet note. I have mixed it ok with green tea in the past. Mild mint flavours are actually quite versatile because if you keep the concentration down, you can add note of other stuff to them, caramel, chocolate, fruits. If you find a mint concentration you like, you can slowly buy the occasional "adder" flavour. that would keep your costs down and give you a base flavour to rely on. I'm sure the other more mint experience mixers can advise or check out the mint/menthol reviews in the mixology section of the forum

Awesome guys thanks, my order that Tino D'Milano one, anything else I will need? Few small mixing bottles and pippets? A bottle of VG from boots, a bottle of PG from the link in the other thread and some Ethyl Maltol?? and I'm good to go. Oh and some 54mg nic.
Surely the other half will agree to that!

Im doing some flavourarts spearmint a bottle costs £3.20p + p&p but i got others while I was at it. Ive 25ml steeping at 15% , a little weak but Ill strengthen it up over a few days Im expecting it to be good for me under 20% which means Ill get to mix another 25ml way down the line. Its a spot on wriggleys spearmint gum but Im liking espresso cream, nutzilla, or blueberry at the moment.

Yeh I had a read through that before posting, very informative thanks ash, I will add up everything I need, sort out the maths and then 'pitch it' to the other half. Sometimes it's like being on dragons den haha!

Just my opinion but tell her that this is cheaper than smoking ... then make sure your paypal notifications aren't copied to her email address. I did think of posting another response option but thought I would opt for the diplomatic version

Matt.. tell your Gertrude nobody likes a nag and to get back in the kitchen doing woman's work..... then run for the hills clutching your new vaping stash.. lol
Another thing you can do if you have a favourite pre-made liquid and can't quite reproduce it yourself is to buy the pre-made in a higher strength and dilute it with your own mixture with no-nicotine. Works very well and cuts down the costs.

Haha! No doubt I will just order it any way, and take the consequences later, like doing the hoovering for a month So I have got this kit www.ltecigs.larsentilbrook.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=155 with 36mg of nic @ 9.60 for 100ml (thought it would save on postage but I know you can get 54mg) and the mint flavouring. Got to get VG and PG so all in all about £24 for if my calculations are correct will make 200ml of juice. £1.2 per 10ml! Edit: that's at 18mg/ml

Naturally 36mg won't go as far as 54mg ... but for cheap testy it's good and cheap. PG is cheap off ebay, and get your VG from Boots. Make sure you post progress back ... Matt's Minty Madness ... we are expecting a recipe !
