Hi guys, sorry if its been covered before, I've had a read round but can't find anything.
What is the cost/savings say on 30ml bottles of premixed compared to DIY and also is it worth while rather than just buying pre-made. Seems there's a lot to think about and quite time consuming.
My better half is saying I'm getting too into this, but if I can convince her it will save me tons more cash she may let me do it (although I'm not quite break even yet).
Thanks for the help.
P.S I'm really struggling trying to find a flavour I like, so I'm thinking DIY may even help keep the costs down when I'm trying lots of different flavours.

If you are asking is it cheaper to make your own E-Liquid then yes it is
Hard to say how much cheaper but I reckon 10ml to buy £4.50 - £4.99 (APPROX)
If you make it yourself I reckon £1.00 for 10ml . . .Thats APPROX as well

Matt if you have a look in the Members Recipes thread, many of the recipes have a cost shown with them. Obviously it depends on what flavours are used and at what percentage, and there is also the inevitable start-up cost of assembling your nic base, dilutants and flavours. However, most of the recipes come in at under a pound per 10ml

P.S I'm really struggling trying to find a flavour I like, so I'm thinking DIY may even help keep the costs down when I'm trying lots of different flavours. With all new things, there is a bubble cost where you invest and experiment. Determining your preferred flavours is difficult and playing with flavours contributes to the bubble. There is a learning curve but it's not steep if you have the time to apply yourself. I found a flavour I liked and then tried to work out how to mix it. Never worked it out but on the journey mixed a flavour I do like. Do I only mix that now? No. That would be cheaper but I am hooked on mixing. My tastes are "organic". Some juices I hate when I start then I persist in vaping them due to the fact I don't like waste. My tastebuds adapt and I end up liking the flavour. In DIY I think you will expand your flavour tolerance more. DIY is theoretically cheaper. If you get hooked to it, you will spend money on flavours which are cheaper than juice but it depends on how hooked you get. I've started buying some weird shit and find that in actuality, I still only vape the flavour I found, yet am still mixing - probably because of the creativity in it. I would recommend finding a flavour you do like, then try to replicate that, if you are trying to reduce cost. If you do that, it IS cheaper. What do you vape at the moment? There must be something you are partial to else you wouldn't be vaping?

Wow! That is a huge saving (providing I like the concentrates I pick up). That's my problem at the moments have 7 different flavours in my cupboard and only really like one.
My better half doesn't like me buying things and not using them, at the moment I'm thinking the stinkies will save on wastage.

@ashmal hangsen spearmint, the cheapest I've found is 8.49 for 30mls. I could do with it being a little stronger which made me think of self mixing.

Ok these are the ones in my cupboard I don't like
French toast Milk chocolate caramel RY4 Virginia Cherry Lemon Meringue Pie Pineapple, Coconut Rum
I've got lemon menthol which isn't as bad as those above, and spearmint which is my favourite so far.

But yeh it will be cheaper like that, just buy 2 or 3 flavourings from the local supermarket

Ash makes a good point above - if you find a flavour which you like, then mixing your own is definitely cheaper - about £1 per 10ml is the average. However, if you want to experiment, then it will cost you more, although you will be amassing a good 'library' of flavours for future use. I like Vanilla Custard, and have found a recipe I like, and have just mixed about 200ml for the cost of £40 - do the maths and see how the savings mount up. I now need to restock and will probably spend £30 on base, PG, VG and flavourings which will set me up for the next two months at least! Andy

I bought some menthol crystals and filled a 10ml empty bottle half full with them
I topped that up with PG......Give it a shake and they will eventually disolve
You now have a mentol flavour to add to your NIC/PG/VG
I make the wife a 5ml bottle up and only add 4 drops of this Menthol concentrate (its pretty strong but you can adjust easily enough....Start small). . .
She loves it with a spot of Capella sweet strawberry in
The whole process costs very little.....Worth a try to keep your Missus off your back
