The US are probably planning to take out all their known nuclear production facilities right now, if they haven't already Pretty sure they would be first on the list, it would be a perfect excuse.

I don't think it will be quick, not if there alloys step in, and we know who they are.

The thing is, what will China do? Although they have been long term supporters of North Korea politically and also in food arms & trade, they have been getting increasingly pissed of with them and I can't see the Chinese being at all happy to have a belligerent near neighbour with nuclear arms capability.

It seems highly unlikely. I wonder if anyone has explained "Star Wars" to the supreme leader, Kim Jong-Un. Not the film (with R2D2, Darth Vaper and the girl with the croissant hair), but the fact that America has invested a few un-spare dollars in designing systems to shoot down ICBMs. ???

China may bluster, but they're whole future depends on the West buying their 'products'. I can imagine a lot of 'behind the scenes' pressure being put on NK by them at the moment. The problem is, they are dealing with a youngster trying to prove himself, who is totally out of his depth, and susceptible to irrational decisions which his 'braindead' followers will follow regardless.

I wouldn't say "brain dead," I'd say brain washed instead, they have, what, 2 - 3 generations now, who have lived and died under brutal Personality Cult regimes, the vast majority know no different. because, from birth, they have been told no different.
A bit like North Dakota I suppose.

'BrainDead' is the next step from 'BrainWashed' and I'm sorry to say that the NK population and it's secondary leaders have succumbed to. Those at the top, surprise, surprise are living a very nice life, but those below are living in a total vacuum, but daren't question it for fear of... !!!

I think it will kick off. One of the main reasons being this could possibly be the one and only chance the Americans will get to wipe this regime off the face of the earth and have right on their side to a certain extent. Also, by doing so, they show the Iranians they mean business. Obama cannot go on for too long with a fruitloop, testosterone filled youth with his finger on the button. I fear one bad move on NKs part and it will be goodbye Mr Chips.

I agree with what you say dolly.................but I dont think that the US will try and start a conflict............not after Iraq & Afganistan............there will be a lot of posturing and showing off of their weapons...........mainly saying "my missile is bigger than yours"...........but outright conflict..........I dont think it will come down to that

No i don't think it will get that far either Esme. As just said on the news. the NK military have been granted the power to launch a missile whenever they want to by the leadership. If they are stupid enough to press the button America will just obliterate them, taking out their missile bases.
