Aww, cmon guys - I'm trying to play by the rules and post my stuff in the correct category and now it's turning into yellow pages for modders on my thread. I took it as people showing you comparisons to inspire you. Oddly enough the guy who designed that has been on my facebook page today and left a like for my version, Puma Dedek This is in 18350 mode:

I don't know, ask for peoples opinion's and don't like it when they give them, if I was being rude you really wouldn't of liked it, maybe you can ask the mods to delete any comments that don't tell you how brilliant it is, Andy

Andy, I only asked you confine yourself to constructive criticism and avoid the all out abusive language - and I haven't asked anyone to delete anything.
What I have been doing is addressing peoples comments - that's a little different from the childish behaviour you accuse me of. I don't know if you are just trying to get a rise out of me, but that's how its beginning to look.
I am taking on board all comments - but as far as I see most of the negative are based upon assumptions about its size and strength both of which are a little off the mark in the real world.

The larger end cap screws off, there are three vent holes in the base - if they were on the top and the battery vented it could go up you nose not much fun. The next one I may put the vents between the two tubes - then they are safe from all angles. Working in stainless requires facilities I don't have, copper is an easily worked metal which develops a nice patina over time and I think fits in well with the style of stuff i'm making at the moment - I do have some plans to build a vacumb forming machine as I have some ideas for some silliness with plastics.

How is copper in the hand, my 3 month old lavatube's chrome has worn through and now it now sits unused as I hate the smell on my hands of the metal under the chrome, not sure but think it may be copper.

Really? "infraction on your account for disagreeing with a Moderating decision" What did I do? I didn't know I can get this one for starting thread about new rule in feedback forum. If you don't like a bad feedback you should stated this one in the forum rules. ... have a lovely life everyone.

Let me explain If the battery vents the pressure builds up in the battery tube. So there needs to be a hole to let that pressure out, the location of that hole is less relevant that the amount of gass it can pass. That is why I have exceeded the factory version with three holes.
Also by moving the battery tube away from the atomizer head I have removed the chance of the atomizer being fired into the users mouth. Search the forum, there have been other factory supplied devices that did just that, part of The design the factories use is to press fit all the parts together so if the battery should vent badly the whole top pops off the mod. My design avoids this scenario completely.
If I fit a bridging piece then you would not be able to unscrew the top half of the battery tube, so could only use it in 18650 mode. The way I have designed it you can simply unscrew the top half of the battery tube and use it with a smaller 18350 battery, making the whole thing smaller and Lighter. Sme people like a smaller device when out and about.
When I started making it I was going to fit a top bridge, but after making the bottom one I found it was so strong I didn't see the need, this lead to the above becoming a possibility. I have been hitting it with hammers and twisting things during the manufacture.

I have seen it done on custom bikes, but how durable it would be......I have my doubts about it in this context. A quality car wax would give it a surface coating that would slow the oxidisation process a little.

cheers andy, I may give that a try, my querie was more to do with lacquering clean polished metal. I had tried a couple that didn`t really work due to some sort of reaction causing tiny bubbles under the lacquer (the copper/brass was totally clean). I was looking to lock in a shine (or tarnish) on a mod that I had removed the chrome off, which reveals copper and then brass if done with care. Thanks andy01424

in that case would suggest using a bit of thinners so remove any residue, left then leave a while to vapor off then buff with lint cloth that should stop that ,that will remove any residue, usually its any grease left behind causes that ,including finger oils/grease

At the end of the day any paint will need something to key into to hold onto the surface, polished smooth makes it hard for the paint to stick, so you are asking for the impossible.
