Sorry, didn't really know how to title this (nowt new there then)!! OK, so I've got my EVOD full of Caramel from vapourtine, and it's bl**dy lovely. I got a few cheap juices, including 3 bottles of Caramel from eliquidshop, and to be fair, when I sampled a few on Saturday (4 days ago) I was not entirely impressed. Even so, on Monday, when my EVOD ran out, I filled it with eliquidshop Caramel, thinking 'well, surely, Caramel is Caramel'. It was musty/funky/burnt plastic/chemically - not really sure what, but not nice, so the EVOD went out of action until I worked out how to get this evil stuff back in the bottle (meh- I can possibly mix small quantities of it in with other stuff - wouldn't want to waste the nic!!)
So, just now, I thought s*d it - and put the EVOD on the battery, and tried it. It is much better - still nowhere near as flavourful as the vapourtine juice, but deffo Caramel, not 'burning biro'.
So my questions are -
- "Why"?
- Has it 'steeped' in the EVOD, as its not sealed?
- Were my tastebuds a bit shot on Monday? (The vapourtine juice was OK)
- Should I try steeping the rest of the liquids with the top off (the bottling dates range Nov11-Feb12) ?
- When should these liquids be used/frozen by, due to the production date?
- If I make a similar blunder in the future, what is the best way to empty a clearo back into the 10ml bottle?
All 'noob' questions, I know, but that's what I love about this forum - there's no 'us & them' culture

If I make a similar blunder in the future, what is the best way to empty a clearo back into the 10ml bottle? I can answer that one quite swiftly, get a syringe or small funnel

I find all juices get stronger and thicker in a clearo as you vape it. I don't put half-used liquid back into a bottle, although if it was fresh and unvaped I might.

Maybe the wick was soaked with juice so it tasted really good.

Steeping really only means waiting, so any liquid left alone anywhere will steep. What's more likely is that when you vaped some the first time it gunked up the coil a bit with sugars from the caramel. Over the few days this caramalised sugar will have leeched back into the juice, sweetening and darkening it. Juices with the dates you've given are unlikely to improve further.

Would oxidation of sorts occur. I know with the bigger tanks like the UFS (thats how long its been since Ive changed gear) the liquid does change colour, some I have seen go from golden yellow to dark dark brown and a change of flavour. Still nice tho.
