could someone please give me advice i have just received four of these batteries arrived from hong kong, could you please let me know whether they are safe to use in a paps/mechanical device or are they only safe for use in a vamo etc . I would love to put them in my paps to increase battery life as they are 1200mah do you think it will be safe and give me the longer battery life i am looking for. Many Thanks in advance. regards Rich

It should state on the battery wether it's protected or not or on the website where you bought it from. If it does not then ask the vendor, if you don't get an answer then I'd be cautious about using them.
Ultrafire's don't have a very good reputation and that 1200 mAh capacity is almost certainly overstated. Most reputable 18350's are rated 700 - 800 mAh and I seriously doubt if the one's you have can achieve 1200 mAh in normal usage.
Batteries can be dangerous, so you need to ensure that something you are going to use that is only placed an inch or 2 from your face is not going to give you any nasty suprises.
Sorry.
