Well one month now with no lighter and cig papers. At the very top of the list of what Ive learned is vaping is something that is tailored to the individual, its not a generic one solution for all business. Its something that you have to set out on and discover what works for you in all its aspects. So heres an insight into some of my own vaping "evolution" in such little time as one month. Equipment - Ok started with a Skycig set up. Bought a Riva kit after first week. After first month - well shinyitus is pushing me now to look at a vamo and all that lovely controllable wattage. I still use my Skycig kit for at work - its a total bitch as it feels like a step back from the Rivas but logistically it works - I now refill all my skycig cartos with pretty strong 26mg tobacco flavoured juice and when I visit the smoke shack for a quick vape I still kinda fit into that smokers society/friendship. The Rivas - Im using more or less all the time with clearos on them. I tend to vape more than I smoked when Im at home which seems fairly normal. Vape Juice - Initially in my ignorance I was amazed at the flavours on offer from Skycig, little did I know!! I suppose like many I started to buy ready mixed juice from various vendors to start. I then found out about this weird "steeping" terminology - some of my first e liquid buys I was like this is horrible, doesnt have any taste yuk!! well after 1 or 2 weeks some of that stuff is the loveliest of lovelies - thats what steeping means!! and its when you taste it then it comes obvious. Ok Im still lost in the what flavours do I like - Finding menthol nice, fruits and some sweets. Actually finding it hard to say as I seem to be swapping nearly every other day what I like but a nice citric fruit or a menthol has a sort of refreshing taste. In my second week I developed a total hate of tobacco flavours then in my third week I kinda missed tobacco . Vape juice strength - yep this I am finding Im having to tailor to my lifestyle - at first I vaped 12mg and felt like I always needed more so I progressed to mad amounts of 26mg which I od'd totally on nicotine - cut that back to 18mg initially but now I find like flavours I need different strenghts for different parts of the day - sitting comfortably at home for an eveing heavy vaping - Im down to 8-12mg out and about 18mg, work smoke breaks 26mg - seems all so complicated but isnt really - just sort of works its self out naturally as you go along. Modding kit - been reading around this subject - has gave me a better inside knowledge of the kit and how it works, seems fairly basic around ohms law and simple electric circuitry, do I think I will be tinkering - nope I doubt i will be going that route. Mixology - Ah now heres my interest - the thoughts of experimenting with flavours strength etc etc - have spent an inordinate amount of money this month on flavours etc etc and read loads - and yet have mixed no more than two single flavour mixes - I will be progressing more down this route when Im back home. Money Saved - In my experience - nothing, its costing me - mind you my tobbacco habit was fed on duty free rollies - about a tenner a week - is not the cash Im saving is the lungs. Added to the outlays I have found extra costs from an unexpected angle due to firstly my oldest son, secondly my partner and now my partners friend all trying vaping - mainly at my expense - I can see me mixing juice for more than me in the future - although Ive told them all they will have to start ordering their own hardware. Pet Hates - Ok probably the bargain thread on here yeah I cant resist a lot. Being stuck at work with just skycigs. One month in and sold my soul to the world of vaping it seems

Hey Andy Sounds like you're off to a great start! It's amazing how quickly you can get sucked into this vaping malarkey. Good to hear that others are following your example. Long may it continue

Andy good post. I know what you mean about costing more. I bought my 1st mod this week, hopefully it arrive today. Then on the shopping thread fagsareus showed a link to some really cheap ego vv batteries so I had to go and order some of them as well. Smoking used to cost me around £15 a week. Vaping has cost me far more than that, however if I didn't buy anything else I have enough kit and juice to last around 7 months, which means long term I would be saving. I am also finding out that you need different levels of nice to suit different situations, high out and about, lower at home. Vaping certainly makes smoking look BORING

The Biggest part of all congratulations of a month with no stinkies and welcome back to your taste buds and smell. Great news andy personally i think the part that helps us all overcome the horrible stinkies is the experimenting and the turning of a habbit into a new hobby that is quite intriguing and exiting stalking the posty. Once again congratulations and good luck with converting everyone around you

Great post. Well done on a month.
Yes the bargain thread is a pain in my ass lol.
Shinytus is fun but expensive. I have 3 vamos now and a cvi v2 from sadie when they come in and when the oh asks why i need 3 mods i have no good answer for it lol.

Congrats on your first month away from the ciggies! As for saving money I abandoned any hope of that the day I joined AAEC and discovered the vendors board, the bargain thread and the coop buys section. Those sections should have a wealth warning on them

My month anniversary is coming up on Sunday. And I could almost C+P your story and tweak it a little. I will probably start up my own thread this weekend. The biggest thing I have found is how easy it has been and how helpfull everyone is on here! But I will go into that more on Sunday. And Congratulations

Congratulations from one AndyB to another! Your story is very similar to mine, apart from the timescale - didn't buy my Vamo until about 3 months in, and have carefully avoided any other major purchases since! You're right, it is a very personal journey, and that's why there are so many different types of battery, juice receptacle, heating device and juice flavour - we all want something slightly different. I'm really happy with my set-up now, and barring breakages, should be good to go for a few months. Hope you continue to enjoy the vaping game, and keep up posted on your juice mixing! Andy
