I'm planning to price this up myself tomorrow but, do you think mixing your own saves you money on commercial juices? Is it more about greater control over the flavours and pg/vg ratios? What is the main reason for you to mix your own? Genuinely interested in everyone's reasons so please share

The main reason I started to mix was so that I could tailor juice to my own individual tastebuds. I really enjoy the whole process of mixing, makes me feel like some kind of mad scientist! Lol. It does work out considerably cheaper as well after the initial outlay, costs me about £1 per 10ml of top quality eliquid that suits me brilliant. Get mixing, the worlds your oyster with what flavours you choose to combine!

Personally, it's about: 1) Saving money - roughly £1 per 10ml is 1/4 of the price of standard commercial juice. 2) I can choose what goes into it, some juices seem to have ingredients in that I'm sensitive to, whereas my own don't seem to do this. 3) I can choose my own ratios, both flavour and VG/PG 4) It's so much fun, I feel like a mad scientist with bottles, pipettes and syringes There's nothing quite like having your own recipe turn out delicious and divine and so much better than some disappointments you may have had from vendors! Of course, I've had my fair share of squibs, too, but it all comes with experience

I ordered my first stuff to have a go at mixing today. For me, it's about getting the flavours I enjoy and trying some combinations I haven't seen anyone offering as yet. To start with, I've ordered (in addition to the VG and PG nic bases) chocolate, coffee, vanilla, apple, caramel, pie crust and 2 types of maple (one syrup, one 'natural') plus some ethyl malitol - I know I like sweet juices. I have a wish list as long as my arm, but will see how I get on with that little lot to begin with. I quite fancy the idea of maple apple pie, but wondering if something nutty - pecan or hazlenut, might be a good addition. Hmmm... wishlist just got longer!

Its fun - satisfying - cheaper and my once empty cupboards now look fuller and you get to adjust pg/vg ratios, better than buying loads of juice and stuck with a certain ratio. Go for it. its great

I love the mixology - apart from the cost (about £1/10ml) I get to choose my own combinations, % of VG/PG, strength, and the satisfaction of making my own. It's well worth taking the plunge - I hesitated far too long, and haven't bought any commercial juice for over 3 months now, and have about 200ml steeping or ready to vape, and still mixing. Go for it!! Andy

What got me started was that I knew I like a few of the M+P liquids, but either getting them from the US or Ireland was working out very expensive. I was so pleased when they came out in concentrate form and more pleased when UK vendors started carrying the concentrates. www.leisureliquids.com/momandpopconcentrates.htmlso for an easy first mix, pick a concentrate from above, then pick some ready mixed base at around 20% stronger than you want the finished result, either PG, VG or a mix www.ltecigs.larsentilbrook.co.uk/index.php?route=product/category&path=61_84then mix and shake! once you've done that, you'll realise how easy it is and the savings that can be made and hopefully will give you your mixing confidence

The reason I started mixing my own is pretty much as others have said, It gives me control, and I enjoy doing it.

£1 a bottle sounds blooming good! I'm thinking I want less throat hit and more vapour so making my own would be a good way to do that. Is a 50/50 mix possible? Wanting 18-20mg strength.

It may take a while to get to that price whilst you perfect a juice you can live with ... experimentation and steeping time, probably a month minimum (unless you vape menthol) ... make sure you have other juice to fall back on whilst waiting
