Hope I've linked it OKIf not, let me know and I'll try another way. Looks like a bog-standard response, showing lack of understanding at the points I had laid out. (either lack of response or lack of interest, not sure which to be hones as I read it several times, first encouraged then a little disheartened. Let me know what you think. t.co/tSuA7IhNfRMy Best

The link works, to me that reply is "I was waiting to be told what to think by other MP's, they can't decide and I don't have enough balls to take up my own position on the issue"

Ah, that'll be Daniel Kawczynski then.
He's my MP and I got the same letter more or less, which is disappointing given I got my reply months ago. I expect his secretary is very bored of all us S&A e-cig users.

Hasn't the MRHA (?) Postponed their decision for 18 months? To say mimisters will vote in the coming weeks is lame. Unless its in 77 weeks

MHRA decision cancelled I don't know if it was stated 18 months ... there is NICE report due fairly soon . My MP ...Glyn Davies (Con.) stated the current coalition position
"Over the coming weeks ,Ministers will be asked to make decisions on the regulation of NCPs , based on the advice of an expert working group and the Commission of Human Medecines ( which advises Ministers on matters relating to safety, quality and efficacy of medecines)"
More was included in the letter but I was intrigued by the term Commission of Human Medecines I have followed this fairly closely recently and lo and behold google gives the result it's the f...g MHRA .
Luckily I think the other expert working group ( name?) advised the gov. in 2010 when this was previously to be decided that e-cigs should be lightly regulated under consumer products regulation .....who knows this time though .

"Based on the advice of an expert working group" I am curious who exactly is within this working group? Does anyone from ECITA have a chair at the table I wonder? Normally the buzzword is 'Stakeholder' A stakeholder is anybody who can affect or is affected by an organisation. I consider everyone here as a stakeholder. Now as much as I'm sure we would all like to pull up a chair at such a meeting, the practicalities of such make it impossible. So a single representative of all vapers should be present, in this instance doodlebug. If we have no representation by the vaping community present, then logic dictates that the outcome and recommendations by the so called "Working Group" is biased and flawed? This is now a legal question. Could such rules that would ultimately be written into law as a result of what would ultimately be a closed door meeting be legally challenged? Hmmm. I always thought we lived in a democracy where the people decide.

I like you are fairly new to vaping and never have had much interest in twitter, facebook etc . I also had a misguided belief that politicians were there to represent their constituents . It would be wrong to tar every single one with the same brush but how this subject is panning out it seems that there are a significant number who are
incompetent ie Anna Soubry ..... watching and listening to her give evidence to the Lords select committee Glenis Willmott ...... who leads the Labour MEP ... She is forever quoting "the people are behind me on this" or "think of the children"
A huge amount of responses back have mirrored the party line ... why can't they think and respond for themselves . Never thought much about this before but our democracy would be a far healthier place if we can get independent MP. + MEP. and scrap the "filtered " candidates of political parties.
So after my little rant , I have become even more disillusioned with our politicians .

As far as the workshop is concerned, we have formally lodged our concerns about how this has been set up, and recently blogged about it here: www.ecita.org.uk/blog/?p=493We shall be there tomorrow, watching it unfold, but I can't help feeling it's a little embarrassing for the organisers, now that the JURI Opinion has so clearly pointed out that medicinal reclassification is illegal: www.ecita.org.uk/blog/?p=504We are taking the necessary action, so we'll see what happens.... Cheers, Katherine
