We already know that jolly old RM won't take Lithium batteries for International Post unless connected to a device, but from reading one of Torchy's threads on UKV he says that will be extended to UK Mail aswell come July. THAT is going to be a real bitch if you mainly use mechanicals, and seriously hamper the business of some vendors who thrive on that particular market. Just a heads up, stock up soon

So they won't be able to post out batteries at all? Will that include ego/riva type as well? Guess they'll have to start using hermes/yodel/home delivery network instead. Yet more business lost for RM, if they are determined to drive themselves into the ground, I say let them do it.

Riva/Ego batteries I reckon would fall into the category of "devices", but only time will tell. Torchy mentioned this has been sparked off due to panic-mode from the battery failure and subsequent fire on the 787 Dreamliner.

How's that going to work with people ordering toys off the internet and ordering a pack of duracell's with it? I usually do that so I know on xmas morning we have more than enough batteries. Wouldn't it make more sense to say you can only post them if they are packed in a certain way?

From what the op said it covers lithium batteries, Duracell aren't lithium but how are they going to know whats in the package unless you tell them.

I would imagine lithiums "look" different in the x-ray machine.

Don't know but I do buy lithium batteries for heavy drain items like my dd's digital camera (it went through 12 normal aa batteries in a day when we went to the zoo!) they do lithium batteries in the supermarkets designed for mp3's digital cameras etc, guess you won't be able to get them online anymore.

I was thinking there may come a time when we'll have to buy cheap mods just to get 3 decent batteries for our fav mods.I think it's right that it says 1 in the device and 2 spare is allowed.

May have to design/build/patent a battery box with voltmeter. It'll be a 'device'.

Maybe thats why they don't want to deliver my MVP, ordered on the 11th tracking tells me its still in their network. I agree with the digital camera batts tho. How can RM not deliver things you can buy in the supermarket but as seen in Rhys to the rescue (BBC1 Wales Monday nights) you can get scorpions, frogs and snakes delivered live to your door. Madness I tells ya. I'm going right off the RM, never had a problem with DHL or couriers, they come and pick up returned items, leave legible notes if you're out. RM just leave it in the rain or take it back without even knocking the door.
*pant* pant* Rant over. Sorry about that
Regards Jez
