I did Sadie, not as diffult as you may think, the stone thingies around it can be bought in square metres, they are held together by rope, you just arrange them and make up a rough mortar to fill in the gaps. Two layers of very thick polythene lining the pond bit @sadie22

Another angle, used to go and sit on that bench to feed the fish and have a fag lol, very relaxing just watching the fish. Be glad when the weather picks up a bit and I can have a vape and a cuppa there

My Pond, I think it will look brill with three of those around it, you dont really want to actually see the lamps at night though, just the light from them, wouldn`t take much to hide them away Very nice. Are the chains there because you have small children come round? Took me ages to find these! This was my late mums pond. Was about 14' long 6' wide and 6' deep. The shed was a filter house and had 3 25 gallon plastic drums converted into filters which had jap matting, canterbury spa and brushes in them. 1 central heating pump ran it all and an emersion heater heated it in the winter when a conservatory type thing was fitted round it then removed again in spring. It had a bottom drain fitted and there were other pipes underground with various valves which were used for draining it for water changes and flushing the filters. There was also another central heating pump which ran the waterfall and surface skimmer. Total cost without ay koi was close to 5k!!

Love that @simate, looks like a heck of a lot of work, but worth it, fish are so relaxing, love going out there when the sun is starting to set on a warm summer`s day with a few beers and a little music in the background. It really finishes a garden off, thanks for posting the pics yes, had the grandkids round and the neighbours youngsters, they love to feed the fish. They are really tame, I have a rock which I tap the side of the pond with and they are over like a shot lol..........................and the fish lol

They are really tame, I have a rock which I tap the side of the pond with and they are over like a shot lol..........................and the fish lol My mums favourite in there was her Chagoi which she bought when it was about 6" long and grew to about 2' 6" in approx 4 years, they eat like pigs and grow really fast, they are a really tame variety of koi and will readily handfeed. If you have koi that are shy, put a Chagoi in and they soon come round when they see it handfeeding and know its safe then they join in too It was SO clear, you could see all the way to the bottom, the water was probably cleaner that what comes out a tap lol. I thought it was mental having it heated but it helped a lot to keep down fungal infections. I couldn't do with the sound of running water now though, it makes me wanna wee lol.

Wow, that`s a biggg fish, must get one. Your filtration sounds fantastic. I often thought of heating the water a bit in the winter just to keep the ice away, but never did do it. It is amazing what they can put up with. I have had fish actually frozen in a block of ice and thought they were gonners, but they came back to life, couldnt believe it

That's really nice Simate, Its a shame that you lost one. I don't know anything about Bonsai's except how nice they are and obviously watching Karate kid films lol so I just done a wiki search and now I feel educated, did you know the first issue of bonsai magazine was published in 1921 and the first world bonsai convention took place in Osaka in 1980. It must be really difficult to look after bonsai's because you have to nurture and re-pot them umpteen times. you have done very well in keeping one. Any chance your a first dan in Karate and that's the reason you have a lot of shiny mods because your always waxing them, wax on-wax off-wax on-wax off-wax on-wax off
