Hi all i have been using a rainbow v3 clearo for a few weeks and i have noticed a funny taste when i take a draw.it tastes like burnt plastic (Hmmmmm ) it does it if i use a 1.8 or 2.4 atty, it even over powers menthol flavour. Now it dosn't do it when the atty is cold. i also get the same taste from my larger vivi. i have however noticed it to be more prominant when the juice is 1/2 way down. if i top up to the usual line its not so bad.any ideas??

dustyfog - is it a rebuildable, or disposable? If disposable, time to dispose! If rebuildable, have you changed the atomiser head? It could probably do with a rinse out with warm water, pat dry with kitchen towel, and leave to dry on a radiator (if you've still got them on!). Clearos (or more specifically, their atty heads) tend to last about 2-3 weeks depending on the amount it gets used, the juice and how regularly you clean the wicks and dry-burn the coil. Of course, I may be completely wide of the mark, and someone will be along with more information in a minute! Andy

I often wondered how hot the tails of the coil get where they are trapped by the plastic/rubber/silicon insulator. I have noticed burn marks on the insulator in the heads I've rebuilt
I tried to rebuild an Evod head using no resistance wire, but there was no room for the joints.............now if I had a zapper, I reckon it could be done.

I see a video but cannot find it

It may be that the heads you are using, have come to the end of their life and need rebuilding or replacing. I'm new to this myself, but had the same thing last week - no amount of cleaning/drying/dry-burning would remove the 'funky' taste, so time for a new coil Having read this, mine was EXACTLY the same - replace or rebuild the head.

Hi
I find that if you buy a turkey baster they are only about £1.50 they are ideal to wash out your clearomiser / carto leave on top of the radiator for 24hrs and will be ok to use again i wash mine out every 3 or 4 days with just very hot water, also ideal way to get rid of old flavour if going from say menthol to a fruit flavour.

i have been using a rainbow v3 clearo for a few weeks and i have noticed a funny taste when i take a draw.it tastes like burnt plastic (Hmmmmm ) I think the answer is in the question (sorry for being an arse...) When I used V3s, I had 3 or 4 in rotation and they never lasted for more than a few weeks. If it's your only one, I'd bet no amount of emergency cleaning/dry-burning/soaking is going to save it. I had a CE4 that lasted less than 24 hours. Sometimes it just luck of the draw, or juice type, or burning on a less than a fully soaked wick.

after all the taste issues i think its down to cleaning them on a regular basis. i have a few in rotation rainbow v3. on another note is it worth re-wicking the attys or just buy new ones instead
