If you are reasonably happy with what you've been using then stick with cartos. Boges and Kanger are popular. For batteries 2 1000mAh or 3 650mAh should get you through the day. VV will give you more control... they cost more, but worth the money. Joyetech eGo batteries are regulated meaning they give you a constant Voltage. Riva I think are unregulated - they are at a higher Voltage after charging which slowly decreases.
If you decide to try clearos then before you start calculate how much juice you are vaping and multiply by the nic strength of the juice eg 3ml X 18mg/ml = you are vaping 54mg of nic a day. Then start clearos with a lower strength juice because you will probably get through twice as much juice.

Welcome aboard Bigbear. My husband is called that by most of our family. I started with the Riva, but would suggest an ego as it gives you the option to alter the voltage to find your best vaping spot.

Hi Guys, Thanks to all of u kind folk for ur informed replys! Looks like its a toss up then between the Riva and the Ego kits.Anybody care to share the pros and cons of either kit? Also just like to say congrats to everyone on here who is moving from the cigs to vaping. Its been a year now and aint been easy but my Father was diagnosed with the big C last year.....nothing like nearly losing a love one to get you off the cigs! I managed to persuade him to knock the cigs on the head too and move over to vaping......he was a professional smoker as they say,for 50 years!Hes also off them a year. Thanks again for any advice regarding the kits.

I think I am right in saying they are identical, the only difference is with the ego-twist or the Riva spinner. The spinner is easier to read, and the 1100 spinner is fatter and shorter than the ego counterpart.
Good luck, and keep us updated. And yeh the main reason I took the plunge (after trying nearly all NRT's) is that my grandad was diagnosed with lung cancer.
