Most will know I am a big GVC fan. So much so that up until a couple of weeks ago it was all i vaped. 3mths ago I started to get a very frightening experience in bed sporadically. When I try to breathe air into my lungs it wouldn't go in!! The only way I can describe it is like having latex balloon type material blocking the entrance to my lungs. Obviously I panic and try to sit up and thankfully I feel a jolting sound and everything rights itself.
Along with this i have had tightness of the chest, but no coughing at all. The weird thing is i bought a coconut flavour from Vapology a week ago and if I have a tight chest this stuff clears it. I was diagnosed with COPD last year. Because of what has been happening i searched online and I am now convinced i don't have it as these symptoms don't match.
Has anyone else experienced these weird things in their chest?

Dolly that does not sound good. Strange that the other flavour clears it. Maybe the cooling effect that coconut has?
I cant say that i have had anything like that.

I have that and I started vaping in October last year which is similar to you. I have done a lot of research and found out that heavy smokers, which I was, it can take up to 9 months, sometimes even longer for the tar to clear in your lungs. When you lie down your airways reduce in size, mostly gravity and the tar that still exists in your body has noticable effects, such as the ones you describe. Actually, what's happening is, I believe a good thing, because the tar is very slowly shifting, but a doc's visit can't hurt.
This is my personal opinion and not the views of ECITA.

That is interesting Mp. I was starting to worry the GVC was having a bad effect, but you could well be right about the tar. I have only had it happen twice when I am upright all other times lying down in bed. Thanks for that.

Managed to calm her down at which point she was so sleepy from the attack that she started drifting off but everytime she fell asleep she would stop breathing and then wake up with a jolt and take a massive gulp of air. Maybe a check up with docs and run that idea by them. Better safe than sorry. Sent from my Galaxy Note 2

It could, of course, just be custarditis. When I came out of hospital after my operation earlier in the year I had a fever. I spent a few nights flip-flopping between red hot and freezing cold, bathed in VC-scented sweat

Sent from my Galaxy Note 2 Yes I do, but only very occasionally these days and definitely not when this has happened. I am still wondering why I feel GVC is tightening my chest yet the coconut seems to ease it up.

Maybe that is what is helping clear your airways. You should try some menthol and see if it has the same effect.

does this happen when you are asleep? If so, sounds like sleep apnea en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleep_apneaI get it occasionally, feeling of choking, inability to breathe, forcing yourself to wake up
