For the last good few months I have only been using 18650's, and as i now have the Telescopic Z Max I thought aha i will be able to use those da da da dah, Trustfire 18500 1600mah batts that have been sat in the box and not used or charged since last December, so just put one in and didn't even know if it was charged or not, so scrolled to batt charge setting, and the reading, 4V, 4V not too shabby eh?

Well I've had them for a year now, and they seem to be doing ok, plus they were second hand when I got them, so if they don't last much longer it's no big deal. but what you going to do when you have used a battery, charge it up? it's not a lot of use flat.

I was just pointing it out so folk don't hoard batts when there on sale. A li ion will lose 20% capacity if stored for 12 months on full charge at room temp.

Hmm, good advice there fecked off - not that I have any spares at the moment, but worth bearing in mind if I do ever get some. Andy

spiggi, so if they are stored flat as it were do they just lose less capacity or none? just checked the voltage on that same battery now down to 3.7, although I've not been hitting it hard, but i'd say it's good as new or as good as could be expected from a cheap, meant to be no good battery.

rite if you want to store li ion long term you want to have them at a 40% charge which is 3.8 volts at room temp they will only lose 4% capacity over 12 months.
