Protank burnt taste/ smell

I've just cleaned and dry burned my protank that i've had since tuesday as i tried a liquid in it that was horrible. i'm now getting a metallicy burnt taste and smell, is it possible i need to replace the head already?

probably, but leave the old head in some vodka over night and dry in the window for a day and I've found this removes that taste.... or if you have an evod swap over the knurled tube from an evod head to the protank head while it cleans.

I do this as i have a load of evod heads

i'll try the vodka, i have a spare head i can use until it dries. should i have not dry burnt it? as it was fine before that

Dry burning is ok but you have to be careful not to burn the wick, can you see the coil when you dry burn it?

I dont dry burn any of my heads now, straight into a pot with a denture tablet over night, rinse off, dry, job done.

yeah i think i'm going to do that from now on, do denture tablets have the same effect as vodka? also do you know where to get spare heads from? i found them before for about £7 for 5 but i can't remember where i saw it

Yes they do but quicker, left overnight in denture tablets the coil is spotless but vodka it wont be, it will still need a small dry burn.

Not sure to be honest as did not get on with the pro tank.
