12,000k is kind of hungry, but then again you could have a quarter of a million processes like that running before computer says no. Mind you, 3 x as demanding as iTunes helper...

Why dont you switch it off when you have finished with it ?? I used to use selective start up to avoid all these crappy processes that are sitting there just waiting for you to plug something in. Such a bore though....

Very strange, it looks like it starts up in the background when i boot up my p.c but does not open up, so i just started up the MVR software and the memory usage did not go up or down so i then closed the software and the MVR.exe disappeared from windows task manager. Stealth software

erm 12MB whilst sitting in the background and not using any actual CPU resources.. - that's pretty good actually - My waterfox web browser regularly chomps up to 1.5GB of memory....

Stealth software It's not out of the ordinary at all, lots of software does this. If it annoys you then run msconfig (by typing it in the 'search programs' part of the start menu or choosing 'run' and then typing it - depends on Windows version). Once it's running choose the 'startup' tab along the top and this will show you a list of the programs which automatically start in the background whenever you start your computer (including mvr). Simply untick the box next to mvr, click OK and restart your computer. Problem solved.

Already done that, i do that with most things, i was just surprised that this software would run on start up, im just very fussy/paranoid about my exe's

Most likely it is just in the background, polling the USB so that it can react to your eVic being connected. 12MB RAM isn't out of the ordinary for a managed .NET software which I guess it is.

The main window may be hidden, but the software IS running. That's commonplace for hardware related software. You could take a note of the PID of the running process (under "View" in the task manager click on "select columns", check "PID") and then start the software again - compare the PID of the "new" Process with the old one - I am guessing they will be the same.
