Started with a ce5 kit, bought a vision spinner and moved to a vivi nova - very satisfying vape until I broke the screwthread of the base in the battery by sitting on it! So now I have a DCT tank which I'm OK with for now.

Saving up for a VAMO or another suitable VV/VW mod. Any recommendations for the cost conscious vaper?

Vamo's are great and tell you everything /ohms of coil/ battery life left/ volts or watage being used, all very handy stuff and for the moneyi dont think you will find much better.
I have looked at a few options to try and get the same performance in a smaller unit but there is really not much in it i got a evic for that reason but find it is much more power hungry than the vamo and only slightly smaller even saw the Sigelei TZmax euphro yesterday another nice unit more expensive and only 10mm smaller maybee.
So to wrap up if you want electronics to tell you everything in a mod you have to put up with a bigger unit , and for the money you cant get much better than a vamo i will post below cheapest kit i have found and also started with myself.

Vamo is VERY cheap HERE you will need to login and the price drops to $26.99 + shipping (under £20) although you are buying from China and if you have problems it can be difficult to send stuff back and costs a lot in postage. However many (including me) have bought from here with no problems. You will also need batteries and a charger if you do not have them but doon't buy cheap one's it's worth investing in good quality.
