Robby can you gauge how much heat is going up the straw from a difference in how much the steel in your Phoenix heats up ? I know my Igo L heats up quite a bit, never thought of adding a plastic liner. That is exactly what I am trying to avoid, I dont want to lose any vapour heat and it is working a treat

I am actually glad that it didnt fit well and needed distorting to go through the driptip. It made the wall of the vapour channel insulsted from most of the rest of the drip tip thin so it warms up really quickly. When you think about it, what causes condensation? warm vapour on cold surfaces, I am sure the vapour getting to the end of the straw is much more than what you would get from an SS drip tip. It has to be condensing on it`s way through the SS driptip. If the walls of the straw heat up much quicker (which they must) then there has to be less condensation and more vapour getting out and at a higher temperature oxo

I was just looking for more heat in the vapour and trying to work out where it was losing it, give it a shot and let me know what you think stamina

robby I just wanna say that I think you are great. There's no way on earth that I would ever need to know such stuff (I don't even do recoiling or owt like that cos I don't like any kind of faff whatsoever) but I absolutely love that you have thought of such a wacky solution. You rock !

I just had to try this on my IGO-L. Unfortunately if I have more than 3mm of straw below the base of the drip tip it touches the center screw and stops all airflow, however I'm still getting a warmer vape also a stronger throat hit as the draw feels a bit tighter. Has robby lost his marbles? Probably not, I just wish I hadn't bought an IGO-L over a Phoenix, looks like I drew the short straw there. Pun totally intended.

I hope you are a doctor, I have been hoping I have some sanity left lol. Can you not trim the straw a bit on inside the the drip tip? I will be getting an IGO soon. The most important thing about doing it is to reduce the heat loss in the drip tip. Forgive me if that sounds stupid, not familiar with the inside of the IGO kruegerbait. It is more of a drip tip mod than an atomizer mod.

I have tried that in the past, but it is wayyy to much lol. I tried it in the early days of vaping when I just had a basic ego battery and couldnt cut down the power (which may have helped to reduce the heat)

I think you'd be better with a steel tube rather than the straw robby, you could use the center tube from a clearo which is 6mm if I remember correctly and drill out the base of the drip tip to slot it in. I'm not sold on the idea the straw is giving any insulation and because of that you're getting a warmer vape, more likely it's just that you're drawing the vape directly from the coil because the straw is closer.

I agree, but the straw is so quick to get to the same temperature as the vapour, it is such thin material. A steel straw would take longer to warm up. The straw at the moment is only touching the drip tip in a few places so little to slow it up getting warmer. That was the main aim, to get it to your mouth with an absolute minimum of cooling Mev. A steel tube would need to be not touching the drip tip as much as possible, a bit like the way a vacuum flask is made, inner wall not touching the outer wall. But there does appear to be a seal at the top of the drip tip between the straw and the drip tip, I got lucky there, although easy enough to seal it if needed.

Ive just given it a try using a pipet to get the widening same as robbys got. Very impressed with the heat hitting the end of my tongue, this is one element of the old leaf cigarette smoking nailed.
