Welcome. I just loved your story, from start to finish. The tailor-mades, the rollies, E-Lites, home bargains.....just a mirror of my life really. Vaping is just the business and every time a newbie lands on the great vaping aircraft carrier that is AAEC, I thank the god of all things shiny and vapourious, that another brother (or sister) has joined the revolution. Hi. (DJS in weird mood this afternoon.....)

Thanks for the kind words djs. I'm a writer by (ex)trade so I can't write anything without a ramble. In fact, I'm already working on a vaping article to try and pitch to a couple of local zines and websites to add to my portfolio. Love the fact I’m now part of a club. A gang of vapers who share a knowing look when we catch each other sneaking a quick puff up our sleeves in bars and restaurants.

Hi @anythinstreet, and welcome to the band of brothers called AAEC! I'm sure you will, but do ask away if you have any problems, when I first started I got a whole load of helpful and sensible advice from folks here, and now I have a bit of experience under my belt, I'm able to do my own little bit of paying back to the forum. Keep us posted - although I have never used a Twist/Spinner type battery, I too started on ego batteries and a clearo or two, and now use a Vamo with DCTs, Novas and the odd clearo for old time's sake!

Well, the abuse of paypal begins. Just bought my first additional juices from ecig wizard. got 10ml bottles of 18mg of French Apple Tart, Cherry Cola and a knock-my-head off 25mg 555 tobacco - all for under £9 with the ECR69 code. Now I clearly need more clearos to put them in On the topic of clearos I've got a few questions: - The CE4 with my menthol in is starting to give a horrible burnt plastic taste if I vape for more than 3 seconds. Why is this? it's 5 days old and its been refilled 5/6 times. Am I going to have to do my first clean soon? ???
- Does anyone have any tips on how to keep track of what juice is in what clearo? They should be colour coded or something!
Also I'm starting to suspect Ive got a problem with the ego battery. the 1100 is awesome. no problems, but I prefer to take the 650 when I go out because it fits in my pocket better. I've charged the 650 until the light goes green but I think it keeps turning itself off without the 5 clicks. Yesterday I charged it up fully but then half an hour later it flashed about 10 times which I think means its running out. That can't be right can it?
All that aside my love affair continues...although I've noticed I've started biting the drip tips. I've ruined the shinyness of my shiny!

It does sound as if the clearo is starting to gunk up (that's a technical term, BTW LOL)! If it's a rebuildable you might want to change the head, or alternatively disassemble, rinse in hot (not boiling) water, and dry with the ubiquitous paper towel and dry overnight on a radiator (which is probably still on in May as the Spring temperatures are shite!). Before reassembling, dry burn the atty head,. To do this, remove the silicone cap over the coil, taking care to not lose the little metal disc (I speak from experience!), and connect to a battery. Press the power button for about 5 seconds, choke on the nasty smoke which issues (make sure you are not stood under your smoke alarm system - I speak from experience!), and repeat until the smoke subsides and you see the cherry red glow of the coil. Allow to cool before touching (I speak from experience!) and reassemble. Fill and continue as normal. It is possible to buy coloured tubes for rebuildable clearos from various retailers. This does help to regulate which juices go in which clearo. Andy

If it';s not a rebuildable, it is still possible to rinse it out, but unfortunately you can't dry burn the coil (at least, I don't think so, I will stand corrected if I'm wrong). Might be time to order some new (rebuildable) clearos, or try something different like a carto or one of the Kanger range of clearos, all rebuildable. Andy

Thanks Raffles. I'll be buying a few of them then! I've rinsed out my clearomiser and I'm going to let it dry overnight and tomorrow. Like chykensa and every video I've seen says I should now remove the silicone cap over the coil, but if it turns out this clearo isnt rebuildable I dont know if I can take it out. I gently pulled it off with a pair of tweezers (wahey) but I don't think it will actually fit through the top opening because of the metal disc inside the silicone, so I put it back on. It may come out, but I'm scared to put any force in it! Here's some pictures of how the cap looks: And this is when I've removed it slightly: I wont do anything till I know what I'm dealing with

Well, I left it until this agternoon and it was still a bit damp. So I bit the bullet and pulled the cap out and dry burned. After 3/4 minutes it was still smoking a bit but I'd seen the coil glow so put it back and half filled with the menthol. Draws like a Pencil!
Still going to get a few rebuildables though. Does anyone know anywhere that does good multi deals on them? I'll give it a few more weeks and try out a Dual coil too. Shiny!
