Afternoon all! I've been reading all of the discussions regarding DIY re-coiling and re-wicking, but I'm more confused now than when I started! Romelee's thread ( allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/thread/22461/evod-protank-tips-tricks ) has probably made the most sense, but I still can't understand what difference the diameter of the wick makes? and then the wire diameter and quoted resistance My favoured Clearos are the iClear16 and the EvoD, and I hope to join them to a Vamo in the next couple of weeks.. This begs the question, which materials should I be buying to DIY them to get the best end result? Diameter/resistance of Wire? Diameter of wick? Which wick material is easiest to work with? Does it actually make a difference to the flavour and throat hit? for asking help with what is probably a subject that has been done to death as of late! I'm hoping someone can explain what I need to buy to save me some money on replacing the heads? Dan

Thankyou Romelee!
So what difference does the diameter make of the wick? I think this was my main stumbling block!

Good luck dc, I just started re-coiling/wicking and it is very satisfying the first time it all works, mine was third time lucky so don't give up if it doesn't work first time. :-)

The thought of re-wicking an iClear 16 sends me over the edge into Panics-ville Tennessee.
My iClear has been going strong now for 2 months + on the same coil. I shan't be attempting to rewick it when the time comes.

In long it will also effect wicking If your wick is too thick for the channels then it will become strangled and won't allow juice to flow If your wick is too thin then juice will flood in past it and flood the attie

Also, the iClear has homemade citrus juice in it and seemingly is about as clean as anything.

Definitely pass a flame over the wire before coiling, keeps it shape better and makes it considerably easier to get a different coil
