My AGA-S arrived today from Vapingthings (Cracking service again) I have been trying for the last 3hrs to get it to work properly, the problem i am having is the wick is not wicking enough and very very slow when it does. Things i have tried: 2mm wick 2+1mm wick 3mm wick Not strangled any wicks All using 0.2 Kanthal This guide: allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/thread/14719/aga-silica-wickThis guide without the twisted coil: I get about 2 vapes and then the wick is bone dry and takes ages to get wet again, the only way to speed it up a bit is to turn it upside down. Not wicking related but on my 1st attempt the ohms was jumping all over the place, from 1.6 too 3.2, what causes this, all coils was evenly spaced and nothing touching or anything? I know some will say use ss wick but i really wanna use silica wick Can anyone help me resolve this before i bin the thing out of anger p.s when it does vape it's tastes really nice , very airy though and weak throat hit

I run both AGA T2 and AGA S on silica wick (on Ekowool to be precise). Had a similar problem, the ordinary silica did not wick fast enough. Ekowool works better for me. However the lighting struck when I introduced a secondary 'buffer' wick, as Macca suggests, which just sits under the coil, or it slightly overlaps it by 1-2 mm.The other thing is to run the wick between the posts to furthest wicking hole, to ensure the shortest possible path for the juice form the tank. Try 3mm(or 2mm) + 2mm(buffer) ekowool.
The resistance jumps you get when the coil wire is not attached/tightened properly to the posts, most likely the centre-post nut or wire is loose.

Hi johnForgot to mention on one of my attempts i did put a secondary buffer wick but one thing i ain't tried is Ekowool, i have got 2mm only. I am thinking 2mm Ekowool with 2mm Ekowool buffer wick? or will i need 3mm?

We all get that kind of moments, leave it for a day or two, then it all comes along nicely by itself

Hi Rom. Have viewed the video, I do not use his method, tried it and it was crap!!!. My method. Firstly strip down the atty: thoroughly clean in ultrasonic cleaner. Re-assemble, make sure top and bottom `delrin` bushes are intact, no splits or damage. Remove plastic bung in filler hole, this hole you will be using to feed one end of your silica wick. Next push syringe into hole to touch bottom of tank, this will give you the length of wick required in each of the now 2 wick holes. Add another 12mm to the total length of the wick length to accommodate the coil area and for the wick across top base. Using 2mm ekowool wick which I always `flame` with blowtorch too burn off any crap, make up your coil of choice. Using large philips head screw on base for your `negative` connection of coil wire, positive wire to the post with screwed nuts. I end of wick into a hole, then other end into empty (bung) hole, wick and coil just clear of base.(not up in the air in video) Check ohms, if all ok, fill using syringe with 1.5-2ml max of juice. Allow 2 mins for wick to soak up juice. Fit on top cap making sure air hole in line with coils on wick. Power up and vape. I ever only have to tip when tank is virtually empty of juice, not any other time. Sorry I cannot show you a photo, my camera is `busted`. Hope this helps. Good luck. jeffc

Hi Gumpy.
It`s "Silica" wick we are using not mesh.
If you want to set it up "Genesis" style, then you will use either 400 or 500 stainless steel mesh.

Hi Rom.
Spot on !!! yes that`s exactly the layout I am using.
In your picture beneath the positive post screw (nuts) that`s a `delrin` bush, the other is in the centre pin 510 connector.
Wish I was more PC savvy to show illustrations.
Good luck. (don`t forget to `flame` the ekowool wick).

.
No, NO, the wick is much lower only 2mm above base, not high in the air as you show in photo
Tried that method, had wicking problems.
Keep wick as low as possible across area between both fill holes, just make sure coils not touching any metal.
