Hi all, your advice would be appreciated. I'm considering getting myself an AGA-T+ kit, but before I do I would like an explanation in layman's terms of the different wires (Kanthal, NiChrome, etc.) and also wick - mesh, silica, Ekowool, etc. I have not the first idea about any of this, and some information on what they are and how they are used would be great - I'm sure it would help others too! Thanks in advance! Andy

NiChrome is a nickel chrome alloy. Kanthal contains chrome, aluminium and iron. Kanthal is favoured for its reduced expansion under heating so keeps your coil shape. I've also read it has a better flavour. I have tried both and this seems to be true, although I am not happy with my SS (stainless steel) mesh wick. I have read that 500 grade SS mesh wicks better and improves taste. I'm still having problems with harsh taste and low vapour production (currently waiting on some silica wick, apparently this produces better flavour according to some users.)
It takes a while to learn how to build a tasty set up. I haven't achieved this yet with my RSST atomiser, still use eGo-C and vision V3 while I learn how to do RBAs (rebuildable atomisers) properly. I have a feeling that the single piece of mesh supplied with my RSST is pants. Or I haven't oxidised it properly or something. It's gonna take many builds to get it right!
There are plenty of YouTube vids showing a variety of techniques - get stuck in and try them all. You'll eventually find something that works for you. Vapingthings.com supply taster packs of wick and wire so you can try lots of set ups before committing.

Thanks j_mac, really useful information there. I'm very tempted to get an Aga at some point so the mesh tips may be useful there!! Andy

Should have sais the RSST is easier to start out with, it has an insulated wick hole which Solves half the puzzle so that you can concentrate on the wire/wick. It will cost you a little more, but will save you a lot of time in the long run. Once you can wrap a good wick on the RSST you will be well prepared to move on to ther Devices.

I'm with markm on the RSST, its very easy to set up and in my opinion gives a great vape and looks good!

Hmm, may have to start saving my pennies! If I get an Aga variant, can I use silica wick? Not sure I'm ready for mesh yet Andy
