Yup, the Farrelly brothers, the famous Hollywood producers (There's Something About Mary, Dumb and Dumber, Kingpin), are from Cumberland, RI, which is my home town, too. Occasionally, they film parts of their movies, right here in Cumberland, which I hate, because all of those film production people, actors/actresses, etc. really disrupt the town. Nope, I never met them. lol I love their films but i bet it is a pain for you jerry couldnt imagine having film crews here now days as we arnt wanted lol. del good old millwall hey was you part of "The Firm" in you coyboy beebop hat hehe

Well Jay, it is kind of nice that the Farrelly's didn't forget their roots as so many in Hollywood have. When a film crew is going to be in the area, we are informed in advance as to when and where they are going to be, so we can avoid the area.
As an example, a few years ago part of a movie was filmed at a farm that I ride my bike past. I knew when they were going to be there, so I just avoided that area, while they were there.

They say you can see the Welsh hills from the top. I've never seen them and I must have been up there a hundred times. More often than not you are lucky if you can see the Lancashire hills; mist and moorland are seldom parted. But whatever you can or can't see from up there, from down below and from many miles away, it commands your attention. You can see it from the M6 north of Blackburn; you can see it from the centre of Preston; you can see it from the hills above Bury; the hills above Chorley and the hills above Accrington; you can see it in the gaps between houses all over the town: Darwen Tower is a beacon that beckons the eye. It was a gesture of loyalty to a monarch celebrating her sixtieth year on the throne, Queen Victoria.

I'm not sure what my hometown is; I was born in Maizuru, Japan (I'm half Japanese on my Mother's side), and brought up in Geordie-land (North Shields) - so I'm quite a rare breed known as a 'Japanese Geordie'; aka 'Whey-Aye-Banzai'.
And after being a bit of a Nomad for 17 years, finally settled down in Chepstow, South East Wales; so I guess this is my home town.
Chepstow isn't famous for much that I know of, apart from the Castle and Racecourse - however J K Rowling went to school here.
And it's also the start or finish point for the Offa's Dyke walk from South Wales to North Wales.

Ahh cardigan, we were built in 1093 and were the county town for Cardiganshire. We were the place for the first ever eisteddfod (of which all the british isles used to compete in then, even the English) In the 18th century we were the largest seaport in the whole of Wales, holding more vessels than Cardiff and Swansea combined.
We have no famous people although that under milk wood moving picture was filmed in the pub I used to work in. Oh and the Vicars daughter is still in prison for smuggling drugs for Mr Nice.
