Silica wick for RSST? (Result posted)

Just reading this. Has anyone tried it? I'm gonna have a bash since I'm not too keen on using the mesh wick (although it's probably user error).

Can anyone see any potential problems with the above technique, or anything you peeps would do differently?

3mm silica wick from Vapingthings.com. Folded once, approx 6cm long. Kept insulating washer in, wick sits slightly loose so left the fill hole stopper in.

0.2mm Kanthal wire (Vapingthings) approx 4 wraps, top coil kept very close to centre pin (wick is nearly touching). Turned out at 2.4 Ohms.

Turns out I'm a massive silica wick fan SS mesh was tasting metallic and producing poor vapour (most likely user error though, the silica was SO easy).

you could put a silica u-wick through the fill hole

I was thinking that, saw a few vids demonstrating it. Will give it a bash and see how it compares next time it needs re-coiling. This set up is vaping BRILLIANTLY though massive improvement over my last SS effort.

Update, fill hole plug needs to be left out for best vapour. Kinda makes me think a U-wick wouldn't be to my taste. I'll still give it a go next week and report back.
