One thing though - I got a kinda strange taste to begin with. What i do when i buy new wick is either boil it for 10 mins (tie a knot in the end of the wick before boiling as they can fray quite a bit) and leave to dry overnight or i put the wick in Isopropyl for a couple of hours and leave to dry overnight. I also flame torch the wick before wicking anything. It gets rid of that icky taste at the beginning. One thing i do find with any new clearomizor is that it needs a clean before using it, i always put them in Isopropyl for 6hrs then pat dry and leave overnight to dry 100%. I might update the guide a bit later with this info. p.s That strange taste will die away quite shortly

One thing though - I got a kinda strange taste to begin with. ....... p.s That strange taste will die away quite shortly Well I finally succumbed and rewicked one of my Vision Ego v3s - piece of p155. Super-Shiny would be proud of me - I measured the meter resistance, clearo, head, etc and jotted everything (very neatly) in a spreadsheet. Got to the task in hand, using 2mm silica from ecigwizard and some 0.16 nichrome from somewhere. 5 on the top, 4 on the bottom, pulled it tight, snipped, & screwed it all together. Now rewicked @ 2.2 ? Wanted to do 4 top, 3 bottom, but got carried away - it's 0.2 ? lower than the old one though. That's when I came here - minging! Wondered if I should have done something with the wick first, and as it transpires, I should But, for anyone else who arrives here for the same reason as myself, I can confirm that after about 1/2 hour, I am vaping the lovely taste of cola-bottles, not some indescribable aroma from the bottom of the wheelie-bin.

As a complete ignoramus to recoiling (but someone who will e starting soon!), would it make any difference to really soak the wick in juice first before using it the first time? Andy

Wouldn't have said so myself. I filled it, left it a couple of minutes while I tidied up - gave it a good 'primer-suck', then fired it up. Plenty of vapour, just a bit of ming left over from the manufacturing process I suppose. The bad taste really does disappear quickly, and I couldnt be @rsed with boiling it for 10 mins as Super-Shiny suggests - I'd start doing something else and the pan would boil dry and ruin another one..... + the bad taste was nowhere near as bad as the burned-out, musty, 'orrible taste of the one I replaced.

Andy Washing it removes any leftovers from the manufacturing process, soaking in juice won't Just lob it in a pan of water for 20mins on a low simmer, it makes a world of difference.

Only found that once I'd got it done & got the funky taste. Wouldn't have found it to do it though, as it's for EVOD/protank Did it from memory of some pootube vid I'd watched, but peed off I did 1 too many coils (waanted to see wahaat lower res would be like) - couldn't actually find much info on 0.16 nichrome - most info seems to be kanthal, in particular, 0.2 But hey-ho, all is fine and dandy now, and I now have a new badge to sew on my vaping shirt
