Since this thread comes up near the top if you google 'e cig griffin uk' and I'm not sure if anyone who replied actually had one, and I have, I thought I'd resurrect the thread.
It's my first mesh device, so I'm a novice. Only things I'll say about mesh are 1) yes, it does taste different to silica wick, and I think most people would say better - clearer, sharper taste; and 2) I didn't find it that hard to build - easier than a dual coil nova. My first build initially gave low res after one or two draws; take the top off it, poke it, and it was OK for a couple more - but then it settled down and is now OK and I am still vaping on it.
So, the Griffin (I believe the Vulcan is pretty much the same):
It is a mini DID, 16mm diameter, 53mm long excluding drip tip.
The holes on the top are small. I cut the mesh to the size recommended in the videos, but I then had to roll it as tight as possible to squeeze it through the hole. Probably more sensible to cut it smaller.
The hole for filling is also small - you need a needle tip bottle - a mixing-size syringe needle is too big.
The hole on the side (to let air in as you draw) is also fairly small. I drilled mine out a bit, but I bought it to get an airy vape and that was the plan all along.
They are available with a clear tank, but mine came with a steel one, which is stupid - you can't see how much juice you've got and the holes are so small you don't know what is happening when you fill it. I don't think you can buy a replacement tank in the UK (why I googled 'e cig griffin UK'). There is an outfit in the US which sells clear tanks for the Vulcan, but with the cost and the post you are not far off the price of a new one.
The screws are tiny and very fiddly. You have to take one out to refill it - for some reason it doesn't taste so good if you leave it out.
Am I glad I bought it, for all of £6 delivered? - Yes, because it introduced me to mesh, gave me something cheap enough to take a drill to, and hence the airy vape I sometimes like.
Would I recommend it? - No, not even with a clear tank, unless you have a mod with a diameter somewhere between an ego and an LT. It makes the ego look top heavy, and if you have something like a vamo you might as well get a fatter rebuildable (e.g. the aga recommended above), with sensible-sized holes and screws, which I assume would vape at least as well.
