I seem to have wound up talking about the Cubis on a penguin thread, but to finish it off - I tried the Cubis RBA head, and I reckon it is a considerable improvement on the others. The pre-built vertical coil that it comes fitted with doesn't spit too badly - acceptable even at 40 watts if you put a big drip tip on it. On the other hand even at 50 watts both the flavour and the vapour are very inferior to the penguin. Also the Cubis weeps a little round the air-flow ring. And with a mod & a big drip tip it's a bit large & heavy for my pocket anyway. So one way & another the Cubis isn't for me. Or, as djs would say: NO

I got a cubis a long time back & tried to return it because it spat so much, but the shop wouldn't take it. Have they improved? Have you tried the RBA head? At £1.20 I could give it a go. I never bothered before because of the poor Busado review. The Cubis was a dog's dinner of spitting nonsense, however the 0.6ohm coil has precisely the right amount of wicking to not spit or conversely dry-hit in the 12-16w power band. As far as I am concerned, it was the only coil that worked properly. (The 1.0ohm was just about OK as well). Whereas, sadly, I have not managed to get much joy from the Penguin 0.6ohm. It's not like I obsess about 0.6ohm coils by the way. For £1.20 I would try the RBA just for the challenge. Basically though, the Cubis 'cup design' will be seen in the vaping history chapter as a piece of absolute dung unless you got lucky with 1 coil type at 1 specific power. Still spits at me, just not so hard. And the flavour is pretty sh*t. Probably depends on the juice. But I've ordered the RBA - might be able to do something with that.

So what do you put in your pocket djs ? Today it's an evic vtc mini and cubis tank with the 0.6ohm joyetech coils. Or, sometimes a squonker. I got a cubis a long time back & tried to return it because it spat so much, but the shop wouldn't take it. Have they improved? Have you tried the RBA head? At £1.20 I could give it a go. I never bothered before because of the poor Busado review.

I said I'd let you know how it went recoiling with 24 AWG kanthal-ish wire. Answer is that it was easy enough, and with my 100% PG juice, which is what I did it for, the taste is great and the vapour is negligible, as you'd expect. The bad news is that it takes a while to heat up - maybe 2 seconds from cold. Which you get used to, but is not ideal. So what do you put in your pocket djs?

I'm posting mostly to say thanks to Joyetech for a quick response. After 3 months my penguin battery wouldn't charge any more - the connector had been getting gradually more iffy - so I sent an email to Joyetech, at 9 am on Tuesday. I got a phone call from them at 9:40, they said they'd send me a new one with an sae to return the bad one; that all arrived this morning, so just 2 days - nice new blue penguin, 2 new coils. Well done!
They market the penguin as a starter kit, and I am a long way from being a starter, but I think this is the bees knees - first thing to give me a decent cloud which I can carry in my pocket without fear of it leaking. That's with the .25 and mostly VG juice of course. I've had no burning while using it, but you do have to prime the hell out of it before use. Coils start to go (reduced taste, gurgling a bit) after about 2 weeks (70ml).
The tanks don't last forever either - I reckon about a month - and then juice seeps past the coil, and if you don't mop it up, into the battery compartment and out of the hole at the bottom. I've taken to removing the coil by pushing a q-tip up through the mouthpiece rather than digging at it with my fingernails and that seems better. I also wipe the coil's bottom when I put more juice in. New tanks only cost £3, so it isn't a biggy. I recommend the pink tank if you have an original penguin, as you can see through it to see how much juice is left (if you are buying a penguin, get the SE, then that isn't a problem).
When in company I like to vape with very little vapour - so 100% PG, and the 0.6 delivers a bit too much power for that - it doesn't burn, just too strong and harsh - and of course you can only adjust the power and air flow by recoiling. Which I've done, with varying success, using twisted wires. I've ordered some 24 AWG kanthal-ish wire, I'll let you know how that goes. Plan is to buy .25s and when they die, recoil them to my taste for the 100% PG juice. You can only recoil once or twice before the connectors go, but they are pretty cheap.

You are of course right, ceedee and car147. And actually my postie is very good. The moan was mostly due to being carded by a less competent organisation. But I do feel that with an increasing proportion of purchases being on-line there should be some emphasis on making things easier to deliver.

Sorry if I've offended Perpetua, Chrissie, everyone. In future I'll confine my snippy comments to vendor reviews.

I'd like it returned to a UK warehouse (or a local PO), and to be given a telephone number which is answered by either a person or a system that can arrange a delivery on a day when I'm actually in, or tell me where it is so that I can collect it. It's standard practice to attempt delivery by postman, if nobody home then a red card is put through the door stating your local sorting office, where it is held for a couple of weeks, till it's picked up or another delivery day arranged and if no one claims it only then will it be returned to the sender. Strange you don't know this, I expect your young. What happened to me on the first attempt was that they put a card through the door which didn't state the local sorting office or give me a usable telephone number or indeed anything else of any use. If they'd told me they were going to pass it over to the Post Office I'd have been happy - as it was they told me nothing and I thought I had to track it down. You'd know all that if you'd read and understood my previous posts, but you obviously didn't. Perhaps you are old.

My Goliath v2 arrived today, much to my surprise. Delivered not by YodelDirect but by our trusty postie, in a packet labelled "if not delivered return to .." an address in Singapore. Fortunately our postie has the sense to ignore stuff like that. For your sakes I hope that gb use the PO in future, not YodelDirect. Personally, I shan't be using gb again. Not that there's anything wrong with the Goliath, I just prefer to use people you can communicate with. Where would you want it returned to? this is standard practice to put a return address on any package even me when I am sending a item though a courier I put a return address on it. I'd like it returned to a UK warehouse (or a local PO), and to be given a telephone number which is answered by either a person or a system that can arrange a delivery on a day when I'm actually in, or tell me where it is so that I can collect it.

Is it beyond the abilities of packaging designers to make a box for a 2.2 cm thick atty or mod which will fit through a standard 4cm letterbox?
Preferably even when put in a jiffy bag, but while I'm moaning, why the jiffy bag? How about a plastic covered box with a label slapped on it?

Hi, your package is shipped out with SingPost Unregistered, since you not bought the tracking number, they just deliver the package one time, if you are not at home, they will not send it again, onething you can do is contact them where is the post , and you go to pick it up. I tried to find some useful information for you , their Company Number: 02591405 and website : The point I was making was that I couldn't contact YodelDirect. The phone number I have connects to an automatic system which asked me for the delivery number. When I entered it the system said "I can't help you, contact your supplier". Their website did the same thing. It went on doing that for 4 days, your support center was no help, so I tried a post here. However, I just tried yet again, and this time I got a response, and the system said they are delivering Monday. No idea of what time. So another day to stay in all day. It is a bad process, particularly if the tracking system is as described above. If there is no answer at the door the parcel should be left with a neighbour or in a specified safe place - YodelDirect's card says they'll do that. If you think you need a signature then use the Post Office because we can all collect from our local PO - it is close enough, we know where it is, and we don't have to keep ringing for 4 days. Incidentally, 02591405 is the Companies House registration number for their parent company, and is of no use at all. The phone number of their automated system is 0800 157 7777. Well, I stayed in all day, again, and it didn't come. I can't see me doing that a third time. Their phone system has gone back to telling me to contact my supplier. Consider yourself contacted isabel22Can you find out where it is? If it is reasonably local I can fetch it. Failing that, get them to contact me to arrange a delivery time - you have my email. Failing that, send it to me by Royal Mail. If you can't manage any of those things, I'd like my money back please.

Another delivery problem isabel22Order number is WW1507190405009632. It shipped July 30th. YodelDirect tried to deliver it 6/8/15. We were out, they left a card with nothing written on it, none of the boxes ticked. I thought they'd deliver it the next day but they didn't. I tried to get in touch with them but their system is automatic and said to contact you. Since then I've been trying to resolve it with your support centre - Ticket T15080772237 - but the last message from them is clearly from someone who either doesn't understand the problem or couldn't be bothered to read about it. YodelDirect obviously have it in the country somewhere unless they've sent it back to you. I'd be happy to pick it up if it's reasonably local, but I can't find out where it is.
