I know that MM & Fish are both still exclusively using the super-mini RN4081 & maybe some others are also. Thanks to a link that Prof beard posted, showing his SD with a 4081 double cart on it & that they can be bought from Liberty Flights www.liberty-flights.co.uk/product.asp?id=28

They seem like a great idea for the SD although I'm not keen on filling inner carts (I'm assuming from the look of them that they are two-piece units): I'm clumsy and prefer to top off the single piece units. I wonder if these larger capacity carts will vape to the last drop so to speak - I've read comments about the Mega Titan carts that say this is a problem. The SD would be fine as it vapes the carts dry - too darn fast!!! Fox

Foxy, those carts wouldn't be any use for your SD, unless you bought an adapter & some 4081 atties Scylla, I also bought my fluval ages ago from an eBay seller. Last time I checked they weren't selling on eBay anymore.

I think that's the same stuff I've given MM a link to Foxy, please help my memory. There was discussion of Nice-Video-Man's black stuff, but I was given the link to what you're using, no-one came up with the black stuff. The white pads are cut to size for a piece of stuffing that doesn't need rolling up, yes? Ta scylla

Ta scylla I did see some 'black stuff' on eBay so just run a search for aquarium filter pads and you should come up with something. I got a box of 6 Fluval pads that I cut up myself to suit. I do roll them depending on the size I cut - it's a bit hit 'n miss with me. I did want to try the blue sponge filter pads but I can't find any at all. It seems to be a US only thing. If you do find the black ones ok then I'd be interested as they're obviously less fluffy. Fox

Hi all. My fluval arrived arrived lunchtime today - howzzat for service! I have had a 'feel' of it but can't try it yet 'cos the new carts aren't here yet!! Will let you know.
I have been having terrible trouble with my sinus' - at times nose blocked and bloody, then last weekend started streaming like mad - dripping - sometimes without me noticing!! Kept waking me up. Had to come home early from Art Society on Tuesday. Driving me potty. (I had to give up using pastels years ago) Saw doc this morning, he decided it is the sinus' (a friend suggested rhinitis) he has given me anti-biotics (amoxicillin 500 mg). A few months ago, I had Xrays on sinus' but it came back clear. When I reminded doc of that, he says they can do 'deeper' ones or something!! Why doesn't he arrange this then?! (although I will do anything to avoid hospitals!) Anyway, I'll start the tablets in the morning and see if they work.
Maybe some of you wonderful 'sages' will have some ideas. Cheers MM

Sounds like perennial rhinitis - there's a steroid spray that's supposed to help (prescription only) but it never worked for me. I just put it down to being the result of my advancing old age. I wouldn't trust myself with pastels these days either!! Oh, and take care to turn your head sideways when you're filling your carts! Fox
